What are you talking about. We don't actually ever work on any of these things. We just kinda sit here and talk about how awsome it would be if anyone put more effort than a week into any project and how it would turn out great. This topics been brought up several times and everyones always like yeah thats awsome i'm gonna go work on it. 2 days later they've quit and moved onto a new project which they will give up on in another week or so.

if thats the case how come we've got so many great emulators and homebrew projects? and why stick around the scene if it's so poor? Not a month has gone by in the last 3 years that i havn't tried a new piece of homebrew for my dc. for that i'm VERY grateful to the coders

Please keep to the topic, and please do not talk about supporting warezed software.
Do me a favor plug me into a sega.

Well, just so you all know, in the .82 sources of MAME there is a newly revised Musashi. it includes 68008 support and cycle counting fixes. Also there are supposedly some newly implemented ops but i dunno. I was gonna modify this to work in neocd/sdl but i wasnt sure what files were used since there are now like 15 files in the m68k folder for neocd and i cant get on MSN. I cant remember what uses 68008, but now that means the possibility of playing it on the DC =P

Check the virgin folder that is the cpu core and what files are used the other files are genrated. thats why i included the virgin folder. Any new cpu core would have to be patch with the bios calls. Msn is playing up for me i have to use DMSN just to sign in.

You expect me to go through hundereds (or is it thousands?) of games and work out appropriate clock settings by myself? I asked if anyone wanted to help out with it, and I got a couple of responses like "XXX and YYY work well on most games", which isn't really very useful.

    A week? Ha!

Are you aware that Genesis Plus was actually developed over a time period measured in years, and that's not including the time it took to write the CPU emulators (which would have been considerable, but they were written as part of MAME, not Genesis Plus)

To get GP working closer to full speed would require a load of modifications to that code, if not a complete rewrite in a number of places. We're talking about months here, not weeks, at the very least, probably a lot more considering that we aren't working on this full time like the guys at Sega were when they were coding the Smash Pack emulator.

I do intend to do some more work on it. I don't have time right now, and won't have time for at least a couple of months, but I intend to do some more work on it eventually.
