Funny but it speaks truth to how ridiculous this is. People need to FIGHT legislation such as this. Governments just want us confined to a tiny invisible box surrounded by endless rules, laws, regulations, and restrictions....

Whenever you see something like this... QUESTION AUTHORITY and FIGHT!!!

Here's a thought why don't we all just use our devices for their intended purpose instead of bricking them and making bookends!!!

Because i paid good money for my devices and i should be able to do anything i like to it on my property including making into a bookend, if i then use it to play copies then fair enough i am breaking the law, but untill then i should be able to modify what i paid for.

It's a vague law made by uneducated law makers. They are letting industry dictate policy.

    A sad day in Canada.

Although one interesting development is that it might make the owning and selling of mod chips illegal altogether.

    From the article:

"In addition to approximately three hundred copies of counterfeit video games, the investigators seized material used to modify consoles and illegally reproduce video games. The person arrested advertised the counterfeit goods on the Internet through various social media. He could face charges under the Criminal Code and the Copyright Act."

Dude is getting in trouble because he was SELLING THE COPIES, and being an idiot and advertising it. The RCMP does not give a crap about copying for personal use
