It depends if you bought it in Japan then it should work fine.
If you bought it in korea it should be fine too.
If you got it in china or anything around china you'll need a stepdown converter.

Hello, I actually bought my PS 2 in a country in Asia. I played it there perfectly fine.. but right now I'm in Canada. I'm unable to turn it onIs it because of the power cable?
Can it be fixed by just buying a power cable to the PS 2 from local store?

Ohh and you'll still only be able to play Japanese or Asia PS2 games on it.
A step down converter? I saw the power plug and it says 250 V - 2.5 A (if im not mistaken)
So I' just go to a shop and says I want to buy a stepdown converter (no other description needed?)
Most people will look at you confussed and dazed if you ask for a stepdown converter to its best to use lik-sang. Less hassle.
Liksang???? *confused*
I'll just bring the power cable to the store >_< thanks anyway for the replies! ^^

Its a online store.
If you want a stepdown convert than you dont need to buy online however game stores arent going to carry them.
You'll need to be checking a travel store or possably electic store.
