Yes, just stick the DVD in the drive, and configure the DVD plugin in the menu
PCSX2 is a very capable emulator for a decent selection of games providing you have the raw horsepower to play them. A Dual-Core CPU, 2 GB of ram, and a 256meg graphics card are highly recommended for optimal gameplay.
I personally am using a centrino 1.8ghz, 1GB ram, and 64 mb graphics card and am able to play turn based games and some earlier games at full speed, but most modern games run too slowly on my machine.

is a link to the compatibility list. FFX is playable albeit very very slow on my computer. FF12 is a no-go if you are wondering.
You should be able to use the original discs in your DVD drive... My Dvd drive sounds like a jet plane taking off so I imaged mine to my harddrive and used daemon tools to mount the images as a virtual drive.
Here is a guide to getting the bios off of your PS2 for use on your computer as downloading one from the net is illegal and thus will not be mentioned by me on these boards.

this source code maybe is to most recent CYA![]()
Again , v0.9.2 rev125 Crash im my computer
bad compil ! :-( or why ?
i'm not testing this...
version 0.9.1.1 work fine
thanks for reply
the crash problem is the sound plugin. I don't know what's the problem, but it's him the responsible of all the crash. And the null spu is not working so, until it will be recompile for this version, the emulator will not work at all.![]()
i made a couple of changes to get the spu2PeopsSound plugin to work with 0.9.2 just tested with rev 136 and it's working i've tested with FFX and FFXII. It does not crash and gets into the games.
first bios launch starts good at 45 fps, but on the 2nd screen it drops to 3/5 fps, instead of 50/60 fps before the crash with the ohter sound plugin. And it crash just after the start menu in FF X (european version), always seems to be a sounds problem.
I'm using FFX SLUS 20312 with english bios, and it is starting fine with run->execute and file->run cd/dvd.
just tested SVN rev 139 and it is still starting up for me. I'm on an Intel Pentium M 2.0Ghz with an ATI Mobility Radeon X300, here are my settings
GS=ZeroGS KOSMOS 0.95.2 sse2.dll
SPU2=spu2PeopsSound5.dll
CDVD=CDVDisoEFP.dll
PAD1=PadSSSPSX.dll
PAD2=PadSSSPSX.dll
DEV9=DEV9null.dll
USB=USBnull.dll
FW=FWnull.dll
also I'm not using any MTGS settings or DC
my SPU setting are
2: SPUAsync
1: medium
0: No Reverb
0: None
checked:
Enable XA Playing
SPU IRQ - wait for CPU action
hope this helps you out some
