i'm sorry but i thought everyone knew.
Ive been speaking to an insider tonight on IRC and he has a Euro PSP already and he confirmed to me that the firmware on the PSP is v1.52 he also said that the UMD demo has the upgrade to V2.0 on that, so you have been warned.
At this time theres no way to play homebrew on either v1.52 or v2.00 but Yoshihiro has already successfully downgraded a v1.51 Japanese PSP down to v1.5
So much for Sony releasing in Europe the V2.0 from the word go![]()

it was never confimed one way or the other
Yoshi downgraded from 1.52 didn't he? I'm sure he did.Originally Posted by wraggster
Not sure but he says it will work with 1.52 anyway, so for the sake of UK PSP owners we gotta get the word out that they DO NOT want to upgrade firmware because a lot of them will do that right away with the demo disk and regret it for a long time.
what so if i play the demo when i get the psp it will update without asking me if i want to or not what about the new games in uk will they have the update as well
Why not use Yoshihiros Wab Version Changer V2, change Version to 2.0 and then
have a look at the Demo-UMD?! ^_^ Whatever, i'm looking forward 2 my PSP no
matter what Firmware will be installed. It's only a matter of time til 1.5X and 2.0 will
be expoited and everyone can play homebrew again...
Yea Lets hope so i cant wait ethier looks like its gunna be intresting in the home brew scene on september 1st
I've heard if you pop in a UMD that requires a firmware upgrade, it won't perform the upgrade unless the battery is over 50% charged AND the PSP is plugged into the wall. Can anyone confirm?
When the update process is starting you have to read stuff and accept like 2 or 3 times before it really start and then it requires to be plugged.
Upgrading without wanting to is IMPOSSIBLE (unless you are really dumb).
