We heard murmurings of a possible app store for GamePark's Wiz open source handheld back when we first laid our hands on it, but now it's officially on its way. GamePark Holdings' awesomely-named Game Contents Open Store is now set to open in August, allowing all users to produce and download homebrewed apps and games for the Wiz. The SDK is currently in development, and there aren't any further details beyond that, but we'll keep our eyes peeled for you.

Say it with us now: "Phew!" When Nintendo announced that its Wii MotionPlus dongle would be hitting US shelves on June 8th, we all wondered why Wii Sports Resort (Nintendo's first MotionPlus-enabled title) was set to ship over a month later. Now, EA Sports has relieved worries that early adopters would have no software to use with their new toy by announcing that Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 10 will hit North America on June 15th. Better still, the Wii version will be available with a MotionPlus add-on bundled in for just $10 more than the standalone title (which will run $49.99). As great as all this is, Europeans still come out better, as they'll also see Grand Slam Tennis ship in June with a MotionPlus packed in. Ah well -- it's just a peccadillo, we'll let it slide this time.

Sometimes you can't beat the classics. The gentleman who brought his old NES Advantage to bear on his Xbox 360 is back, this time working his magic on the Super Advantage joystick. This bad boy is wireless, runs off an internal battery (charged via standard USB), and sports an LED player indicator. If you've never been able to get used to the standard Xbox controller, keep an eye out for this bad boy on eBay. The modster in question has stated his intention to let this one go to the right bidder, but not before he makes another one for himself. The next trick, he says, is to add cross-platform compatibility with the Wii and SNES. Video after the break.

U.S. HD DVD fans that passed up Best Buy's offer of $3 per disc, or just those who stocked up on cheap movies after the format gave up the fight have another option coming from Warner Bros. Send in the cover art sleeve (keep the disc) including UPC from your HD DVD case (plus $4.95 per movie and $6.95 / $8.95 per order S&H) and it will send you back a brand new Blu-ray copy. There's a few other restrictions, like 1 copy per movie and 25 different movies per household, but the biggest decision is likely to be whether giving up your precious I Am Legend sleeve is worth the trade, hit up Red2Blu.com for all the details and necessary forms. It seems to us like a decent offer to make HD DVD owners whole, we'd be surprised if Paramount and Universal came through with similar plans.

    Fanjita posted this:

I sit down to write this post with mixed feelings.

On the one hand, I have to congratulate MaTiAz and Davee for their recent excellent work on the TIFF exploit and HEN. Their project is exciting, and I'm sure we're all waiting with excitement for their upcoming release. It shows that the PSP homebrew scene has not been defeated by Sony's latest efforts, and long may the spirit of competition continue. It's also nice to see so much cooperation within the community. Great stuff.

But on the other hand, this obsoletes the work we were doing on an eLoader for the GripShift exploit - there's no need for it, since the TIFF exploit should work on all PSPs, with or without the game. We've worked hard on it, but so many busy events in our lives (parenting, moving house, pressures of work in the current economic climate) have meant that progress was slower than we'd hoped.

So this will be the first and only project that we've announced but not followed up on. For that, we're sorry - but at least it's been obsoleted for the best of reasons.

    News/release from Alex e

A BIG THANKS TO ANGELSNIPER45 FOR TESTING THIS APP ON HIS SLIM.

Tested on 5.00m33-4 on a psp phat and a psp slim (2001) with 5.00m33-6

This application removes and back-ups certain files in flash0. currently, it installs, unistall the location free player, the dic folder, backs-up and restores act.dat from flash 2 and unistalls the

camera feature located in the xmb thus
saving you approximatley 3mb so far.

    Installation

copy Flash Spacer V2.7 to PSP/GAME

this will work in any of the game folders and will now create and restore back-ups.
this is CONFIRMED and tested to run the slim, but with any programs that access the flash beware.

    Controls:
    (x) - Back-Ups the location free player and them removes it.
[R]- Restores the Loaction Free Player Back-Up.
/\ - Backs-Up the dic folder and then removes it.
[L] - Restores a backed up dic folder
[] - removes the camera function, no back up is made
    O - backs-up act.dat (PSN info)
    Select - Restores the act.dat
    [Start] - Exits
    known bugs:
this will not back-up the camera_plugin. im working on a fix
if a back-up is non-existant, Flash spacer will act if one is present and continue with commands. nothing will be flashed

If you want to use the act.dat functions place iop.prx in the same directory as the eboot.

    Further info:
in future releases, you may end up with a semi-brick by flashing a corrupt file.
if this happens, go to the recovery menu, retrieve the back-up from ms0:/PSP/GAME/Flash Spacer V2.5/Back-Up
and restore it to its original location in the flash.

    Transferring back-ups from previos releases:
if you have made backs-ups from previous flash spacers, you can transfer the back-ups.
    this is done by:
    1) making a Back-Up folder in the folder as the EBOOT.PBP
2)inside the Back-Up folder make a further folder, depending on which you want to restore.
if you want to restore the Location Free Player, make a folder called LFP and place the back-up FILES inside it.

Restoring functions if back ups are lost.
you will either have to dump a the fw you are running and restore them manually
or you will have to up/down grade the fw.

    Changelog:
added a PSN info back-up and restorer. <----useful if you flash your psp, you vcan restore the settings back.

Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) is celebrating Earth Day this year by making a charitable donation to Conservation International by donating $1 for each of the first 10,000 transactions made on the video delivery service for PlayStation 3. Taking the puzzle video game genre one step further, Trash Panic™ is the newest PS3 downloadable exclusive that tasks players to compact as much garbage into a trash can before it overflows, and in the most "eco-friendly" way as possible. DYNASTY WARRIORS: Strikeforce delivers the newest and most revolutionary combat system to the franchise, with never-before-seen aerial fighting techniques, the ability to wield secondary weapons, and most of all the incredible "Fury" that transforms each fighter into a supernatural warrior.

Gamers can get a sneak peak at all of the furious action by downloading a free demo and trailer today, from PlayStation?Network.

Consumers who don't want to miss out on this year's hottest multi-player experience can pre-order the game today at: Amazon.com, Game Crazy, GameFly, and GameStop.

    About DYNASTY WARRIORS: Strikeforce
The multi-million selling Dynasty Warriors? series has long been renowned for pitting a lone warrior against an army of thousands. The highly-anticipated action game reinvents the Dynasty Warriors brand of action into this year's hottest multi-player experience on the PSP system.

DYNASTY WARRIORS: Strikeforce is a game unlike any other in the series. For the first time, up to four friends can join together to form a "Strikeforce." As a team, players will travel to different towns, embark on quests, and use coordinated assaults to conquer heavily-armed fortresses and colossal beasts.

End of level bosses await intrepid heroes with a multitude of guises and deadly attacks while enemies, spread throughout each stage, possess much greater levels of intelligence and more powerful attacks. So now more than ever it's imperative that players work together as a team and find ways to overcome the challenges and obstacles that stand between them and victory.

New "Fury" transformations give characters even greater supernatural abilities and attacks, including lightning fast speed and the ability to fly. Warriors can now take to the skies and face off against their foes in spectacular aerial combat.

Later this year, KOEI will offer new content for DYNASTY WARRIORS: Strikeforce. Additional quests will be available free-of-charge, exclusively through PlayStation?Store.

As we saw yesterday, this new ofw has been finally released, with those subfolders and some fixes that were expected, to be honest.

Between those fixes it’s the recent TIFF exploit that was found and that it’s still under development, and it seems that there are also some bugs, like one that literally ****s the standby.
What do you think about those “new features”? Have you got any bugs like those or can confirm the standby one?
Edit: Seems like this new update has the encryption tables changed (at least the 1g one), as it can’t be decrypted with latest psardumper. Anyway, won’t be probably a problem.
