    News/release from DaMerv:

    Presenting...
    TruPhoto - A whole new way to look.

    There's no readme included, basically because I'm too lazy after finishing this. So listen up close if you wanna know what you are doing.

    TruPhoto is intended to eventually be able to completely replace the built-in photo viewer. At this point, the only feature it doesn't have that the official one does is setting a wallpaper (I plan to accomplish this soon). It is built "around the idea that photo viewing and manipulation should be intuitive and realistic.

    Use the on-screen pointer (which will also be compatible with the touchscreen once available) to grab and drag your photos around the screen. The pointer is controlled by the analog stick and grip is controlled by X. You can zoom in (circle) and out (triangle) and straighten (square) your photos.

    One thing you may notice in the screenshot is a dock. "What do these do and how do they work?" I'll tell you.

    These icons react to different actions.

    Clicking on HOME will return you to your default album.

    Dragging a photo on VIEW will bring focus to that photo. Dragging an album on VIEW will open that album.

    Dragging a photo to INFO will information on that photo.

    Dragging anything onto HIDE will put it away into the box. Clicking the box will empty it back onto the table.

    Clicking HELP will refresh you on the controls.

    "How do I add photos/albums to TruPhoto?" This is the easy part. Each folder within the "PHOTO" folder in TruPhoto is treated as an album. Every PNG and JPG photo within your albums is automatically loaded when you load TruPhoto.

    "How do I change the default blue table to my own photo like in the second screenshot?" Simple. Add your PNG photo to the TruPhoto folder and name it "bg.png"

    Any questions, comments, and suggestions are welcome.

    Enjoy,

    WiiMPC

    News/release from Sshock

    WiiMPC is a simple MPD client for the Wii.

    It utilizes the WiiMote to control your music server with buttons for play/pause/stop, change song, and change volume. The screen shows the current song, song position, and volume.

    Install WiiMPC like any other HomeBrew channel app; then create a file in the wiimpc directory called wiimpc.conf, with a single line in it:

    MPD_HOST = mpdserver
    where "mpdserver" is the hostname of the machine running MPD.

    The source is available, and of course patches are welcome.

    Wolped has posted an entry into the Neoflash Compo

    Try to get as many points as you can while avoiding the spikes.

    Video will probably explain things better than I can...

    RapidRollDS - by wolped

    A very simple game that is easy to learn, but takes skill to get
    a high score.

    Press D-pad Left, trigger L, or button Y to move left.
    Press D-pad Right, trigger R, or button A to move right.

    The point of the game is to get as many points as possible while
    avoiding the hazards.

    The hazards are:
    - Spikes at the top of the screen will kill you if you touch them.
    - Spiked platforms may appear occasionally and kill you.
    - Falling off the button of the screen will kill you.

    You can get an extra life by getting hearts that may appear on platforms.

    When you lose all of your lives, you have the option to submit your
    score on the PAlib leaderboard site. You can view all the scores from:

    http://leaderboard.palib.info/games.php?gameid=18

    Thanks to: Everyone involved with devkitPro and PAlib,the people of
    #PAlib on freenode, and to everyone who plays this.

    Smealum has posted and UPDATED an entry into the Neoflash Compo

    Legion and Legion online have been updated. This update repairs the bug in the credits menu (which i had no knowledge of before about 30 minutes ago) and a bug with nick registration in Legion Online. Please redownload it.

    Legion is a top-view 3D shooter which was designed to take full advantage of the DS's unique features. It has a full solo "campaign", with a very detailed backstory as well as an online multiplayer mode which can be played with up to three other players. (4 player games)

    The game features :
    - A complete storyline with a very complete background world.
    - Humouristic writing with CHAP's random sentences.
    - Completely original graphics all made by Lobo.
    - Completely original music composed by ZeBlackos.
    - 4 difficulty modes (Easy, Normal, Hard, A cup of Tea)
    - 3 unlockable weapons.
    - 12 full solo maps.
    - 8 online maps.
    - 4 player online games.
    - 3 different online game modes (deathmatch, team deathmatch, capture the flag)
    - 13 skins to choose from when playing online.
    - Vehicle driving !
    - Different solo map objectives and boss fights !
    - A particle engine used to render blood.
    - A MiniMap on the top screen which shows you your enemies' position in real time and your objectives.
    - A compass that helps you find your way.
    - A health indicator which shows up when you shoot an enemy.
    - A lock on aiming system.
    - A website where you can follow your stats in real time as well as server status.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    All credits are within the game itself in the credits section, but I would personnally like to thank Lobo for his great work and efficiency on this project.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    How to play :
    Solo :
    - D-PAD/ABXY to move
    - Stylus to aim
    - Double tap stylus on enemy : lock on
    - Double tap stylus on Brutus : toggle crouch
    - Select to bring up weapon mod menu
    - Start to put the game on pause
    - R/L to shoot.
    - R/L close to an enemy will make Brutus punch him
    Online :
    - D-PAD/ABXY to move
    - Stylus to aim
    - Double tap stylus on Brutus : toggle crouch
    - Select switch weapons
    - Start to disconnect from the server and go back to main menu
    - R/L to shoot.

    Please Note
    : the online mode for this game has been fully tested with four players without any problems. It is possible that issues will appear because of a high ping. The main server is located in France, so anyone too far away might have trouble playing. The only way to resolve this is to make you're own server in your country. That is why I have included the windows and linux binaries for Legion Online's server. The server automatically connects to the main listing server which will make your own server visible and accessible to everyone playing the game. Also, it is recommended that you do not download these binaries from any other website than smealum.net (or a big website you trus like gbatemp.net, as long as the file has been posted by an admin or something) as they may be altered by ill-intended people.
    Also, the server runs by default on port 4235. I included a .bat which should show you how to use the server's arguments.

    Installing Legion
    : Legion/Legion Online needs to be DLDI patched. The rom can be placed anywhere on your card, however, the legion/legiononline directory must be placed at your card's root.

    I believe that's it. If you have ANY question at all, please ask, I'll try to answer as accurately as possible.

    Have fun playing !

    Marble

    by Published on August 20th, 2008 20:48

    Noda has posted an entry into the Neoflash Compo:

    Marble is a complete remake of the classic wood labyrinth game, in full 3D (both screen) with realistic physics, mp3 music, on-DS visual level editor and more

    Features:

    - Physics engine, with realistic collision simulation
    - Full 3D on both screen, either as one big screen or with 2 different views
    - Skybox to simulate 360° environment
    - Advanced 3D effects: point light simulation, projected shadows, motion blur...
    - Full MP3 music & 3D sounds
    - Special bonuses and scenery effects (let's try this mushroom...)
    - Integrated (on DS) full featured 3D level editor
    - High score & progression saving
    - 20 levels, with various environment and progressive difficulty
    - Full motion sensor support

    ...and that's only for this preview version

    Note however that there's still some minor graphic glitches in this version as some parts of the 3D engine are unfinished.

    How to play:

    - Motion sensor : just tilt the DS, and the board will tilt the same way
    DON'T FORGET TO CALIBRATE YOUR MOTION SENSOR CORRECTLY WHEN PROMPTED!

    - Stylus : Hold the stylus down on the center on the screen, then slightly move in the desired direction to tilt the board. When the pressure is released, the board will come back to a flat position.

    Press select at anytime to save a screenshot in .bmp format (the game will freeze for a short time during the file write).

    Soulanger has posted an entry into the Neoflash Compo:

    Best way to describe it is by looking at the video. Basically it massively beautifies your Cart's gui, with an PS3 theme as a default gui.

    How to customize the menu.

    The full customization relies on the ini.
    There are two ways of editing via notepad or Menudo Assistant. This tutorial helps explain the functions.
    Open up system_theme.ini. The ini is somehow similar to an html, honestly it feels like a scripting language to me.

    Menu0runs = fat:/TTMENU.nds
    If you press A while on Goto Original Menu (Menu0) it would run:
    fat:/TTMENU.nds

    You can also change it make it to view a folder by linking it with the folder instead.

    Menu7runs = games
    When you run Menu6Runs(Games) it explores the games folder.

    There are also special functions like:
    gba - loads slot2
    power - powers off

    to use it just add it after the Menu(X)runs =
    like so:
    Menu8runs = power

    Misc Stuffs:

    You can speed up the animation by holding the B button while navigating.

    To open a file via stylus slide the name towards to the left.

    You can hold the buttons in directions before you power on your ds to do autorun runs.
    Ini Example:
    startupUP = fat:/TTMENU.nds
    startupDOWN = games
    startupLEFT = fat:/Halo_ds.nds
    startupRIGHT= fat:/beup.nds
    It uses the same style with the menu(X)runs.

    If you can load any homebrews, try changing the ini:
    //auto
    //Chishm's DLDI Loader
    //M3 Internal Loader
    //GBAMP Internal Loader
    //EZ-Flash IV (4) Internal Loader
    //SuperCard Internal Loader

    NDSloader = 0
    the 0 variable runs auto detection.

    The complexity of the customization would make it flexible.
    Sorry but this demo is very unuserfriendly.
    Make sure you extract all to root then dldi. I just noticed this version is very complicated but still I Hope you guys would enjoy.
