Yeah, you read that correctly -- the obsessive audiophiles / videophiles at the Criterion Collection use Sony's PlayStation 3 as its reference Blu-ray player. In all honesty, we can't say we're too surprised. Time and again, Sony's latest console has been rated very highly as a dedicated BD deck, and the plentiful firmware updates ensure that it's always at the forefront of whatever interactive functionality is next. This snippet of factual goodness was extracted from a recent writeup that took an in-depth look at how the CC would be revamping its home theater, and even famed calibration guru Joe Kane gave his approval at using the console for playing back Blu-ray Discs. The real kicker? They also settled upon a DVIGear HDMI cable over one of those obscenely overpriced Ogre cables -- and that was after running clean out of coat hangers.

    News/release from Sonypspplayer

    Hi,

Some of you may remember this game I released last year. It needed Luaplayer 0.16 mod 4 to run, which only runs on the old PSP.

I'm using Luaplayer HM 8 and IntraFont now and it's compatible with the slim PSP.

    Controls:
    R: shoot
    L: reload
    Square: pause

Tomorrow I will translate it to english.
If you want I can include an mp3 player to play your music while playing this game.

Game Developer Research has surveyed more than 2,000 members of the videogame industry to find out which gaming platforms they were spending most of their time with. All of the participants polled were from North America and read either gaming industry site Gamasutra.com or Game Developer magazine.

According to the survey, 70-percent of all the applicants who replied said that they were making games for either the PC or Mac. The console platforms, combined as a whole, amounted to 43-percent of the pie; while 28-percent said that they were designing games for Web platforms. Rounding out the last place was the handheld platforms with 16-percent of the pie.

Upon further analysis of the console figures, 73-percent of the console developers surveyed said that they were making games for Microsoft's Xbox 360. In second place was Sony's PlayStation 3 with 58-percent. It is important to note that these percentages include cross-platform games. In third place was Nintendo's Wii, with 42-percent responding that they were working on a Wii game. Rounding out the fourth spot was the PlayStation 2 with 15-percent.

On the handheld side, 75-percent of handheld developers said that they were making games for the Nintendo DS. 45-percent responded that they were designing games for Sony's PSP.

In summation, the PC/Mac is the most popular game development platform among the participants surveyed; while the Xbox 360 and DS are the leaders of their own respective fields. It is important to note that while the Xbox 360 recieves the most console development support from game designers this does not necessarily mean that the console will provide the most games. Other factors such as team size and game development cycle must be put into consideration.

Lobo has posted an entry into the Neoflash Coding Comp:

Element DS is inspired by the Flash game called "COLLISO DS" created by kurohako. The DS version has been redesigned and made from scratch and features about 160 levels. The objective in game is to remove all the blocks by dragging them toward the blocks of the equal symbol/color. Two blocks of different color will reverse/swap their colors once they collide. The Blocks won't stop until they either hit another block or the walls, meaning that they travel either horizontally or vertically unless they meet the obstacle in their path.

That would cover the basics, controls and links below.

    How to Play:
    Use Stylus to move blocks
    L : Music (On/Off)
GHOST MODE : Only if you finish the level in less than 50 moves.

    CREDITS :
    Code : Kukulcan
    Gfx : LOBO
    Voices : Alexis Bousiges, Cid2Mizard
    Palib : Mollusk

    Levels:
001-010 : original levels from the Flash version (Kurohako)
011-100 : New levels by Lobo
101-160 : New levels by Kukulcan
