13-year-old kid in Virginia has backtalked to his mom for the last time. When he was told to do his chores instead of play Xbox 360, he went and intentionally broke the vacuum cleaner to get out of it. What'd his mom do? Well, she's selling his Xbox and all his games on eBay. And that was before she found out he was surfing porn sites by checking out his browser's cookies.

We asked Beth, his mom, what happened, exactly, and here's what she had to say about what went down.

My 13 year old managed to break the vacuum....thinking it would release him from that duty. He also has a list of other chores that were TYPED up for him to do Friday afternoon....one thing on the list was done...mind you these are simple things...empty the trash, clean your room, etc. Then I go thru the cookies on his computer and find out he has been checking out porn sites. Now there is a password so he can't even get on and his my-space page has a picture of snoopy on it now. Apparently I'm the meanest mom in the world, were his words.

I'm a single mom. I can't let them walk over me or I might never get up.
Sorry kid, but we've gotta get behind your mom on this one. First of all, we're guessing she bought you that Xbox, unless you're the most enterprising 13-year-old ever, so you can deal with keeping your room tidy. Second of all, breaking the vacuum? That's weak. The porn sites thing, well, you should have been more careful about it if you have a mom who knows her way around a computer enough to check out your cookies. As for the Snoopy pic on your MySpace… well, that's pretty hilarious.
The score is now Beth - 1, her kid - 0. If you want to increase that score for Beth, go ahead and pick up a slightly used Xbox 360 for $250 and all of his games for $15 each, with bitterness from a 13-year-old coming along with them free of charge.

We told you that the new Pwnage—iPhone Dev Team tool to automatically hack legal Apple firmwares to free iPhone by making them fully-customizable, open and unlocked—version was imminent and here it is. Gizmodo got early access to the software and it works great. Apart from the previous unlocking and jailbreaking, the new version has three main features:

    • Easily customizable images for start and restore screens.
    • You can use packages to customize your firmware and install software right away, on one single update.
    • You can now pwn iPhone 1.2.0 beta 3.

We also got confirmation of what was hinted last week: Apple is gearing up to battle the hackers, with more and more code running signed and secured inside the iPhone.

Would this be a real challenge to iPhone Dev Team's current dominance in the hacking war? According to them, it may. But it just makes thing more interesting and fun. Exactly what we wanted to hear.

It may not seem like something the general public has been crying out for, but Microsoft has apparently decided to begin opening its own retail stores.

Citing "our sources close to Microsoft", Fudzilla claims the Yahoo chaser desperately wants to establish a retail market presence to build interest and desirability around its products, much in the same way Apple has done so successfully.

A full catalogue of Microsoft only products will allegedly be stocked in these stores ranging from PC peripherals such as mice and webcams to its Zune MP3 player line, Xbox 360 games console, Windows Mobile based handsets and core software offerings.

You might remember echochrome from the last time we typed about this hugely promising puzzler. It's one of our most anticipated titles on PSP this year. Really, it's potentially that good.

On screen, a game about a "mysterious wandering mannequin through a brain-teasing array of 3D mazes full of hazards and perils" may not sound like much. But the beauty of echochrome is that you overcome challenges by changing the viewpoint and perspective of the mazes – if you've played Crush, you'll already be a step ahead of the rest.

Anyway, the point of this update is the fact that the European release date appears to have been set as May. So says the game's page on Sony's PlayStation website (as spotted by eagle-eyed PG reader HiddenAway).

The site also divulges a little more info about the game, including the 'five laws of visual perspective' that govern its gameplay and give you more insight into the experience that awaits you.

    What are they?

Well, the Law of Perspective Travelling states that when two separate pathways appear to be touching, they actually are.

The Law of Perspective Landing relates to the fact that if one pathway appears to be above another, it is.

The Law of Perspective Existence, meanwhile, dictates that when two pathways appear connected and the gap between them is blocked from view, they are.

The fourth law, of Absence, extends the above concept so that when a gap is blocked from view, it doesn't exist.

And, finally, the Law of Perspective Jumping sees the mannequin landing on anything that appears to be beneath him after a jump.

Got all that? Good. All that's left to say, then, is the fact that you can create your own mazes and share them with friends or fiends via ad-hoc.

That's it for now. Let's hope the game sticks to its May release because we're not the most patient people you'll ever meet. And we want to get some decent time with this game. In addition to the demo already released, that is.

You love Yu-Gi-Oh right? Konami sure does. Every year they release an installment of Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Tag Force for the PSP. Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Tag Force 3 is scheduled to come out in Japan in the fall. North America should get monster dueling with the Duelist Genesis card set around the same time.

While Yu-Gi-Oh might not be for you or me, someone out there is buying the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Tag Force games. Actually, make that someone(s) since Konami keeps developing more of them DS and PSP.

    News/release from Miclow

    My first psp game!
I got the idea while morning the "indefinete delay" of PSP's Oblivion. It is a clone of the lockpick minigame.

    Controls:
LEFT and RIGHT move the lockpick
    UP starts the picking
    X sets the picking
The idea is to press X when the locking mechanism is at the top to set the mechanism. If you press it too late it will not set. If you press it way too late then all the mechanisms will reset.

The game is in alpha stage and has some bugs and needs some major improvement. I used this project to learn how to program in C and on the PSP. I know the BGM messes up a little. Anyhow, let me know what you think!
