Ya know, Nintendo has always said it’s not aiming to have the best graphics in the home console business, but I never thought I’d see the day when a handheld rivaled the Wii’s graphic’s capabilities.

The game in question is Alien Syndrome, which is developed by Totally Games. I don’t think there’s any question the Wii version pushes more polygons, but the PSP’s textures look cleaner and more crisp.

However, I do want to say this problem could have more to do with the developer and the fact the games are still unfinished. But whatever way you slice it, it’s hard to argue that the games don’t look pretty similar, graphically speaking.

Just yesterday while hanging out at the local GameStop, we were wondering how Microsoft would be handling data transfer between the old 20GB drive and the new 120GB drive in the Black 360, and now Ben from Ars Technica may have stumbled upon the answer. He received an anonymous tip from someone claiming to work for a large game distributor.

MS disclosed this SKU to us a few weeks ago--definitely not a fake story. Price, features, color are all correct. MS has told us that the data will be transferred via some sort of cable that will be included with the unit. The cable will also be included w/ the 120GB drive that will be sold separately (price TBD).

While only an unconfirmed rumor, I'd say this is as close to a sure thing as rumor can get. Microsoft would be daft to sell an upgraded hard drive with no way to move your old data over. A transfer cable makes perfect sense here. It's pretty much that or transferring data via the pricey 360 memory cards, and Microsoft would never make users spend extra money *cough* Xbox DVD dongle *cough* to facilitate functionality that should by all rights be included in the price. ...

Yesterday the series of tubes that is the internets was abuzz with news that Ace Combat 6 would be appearing on 360. Today we can confirm that news, and the US release is currently slated for some time this fall (we'll bet it's the holiday, what do you think?). More important than that old news, however, are the first screens of the game in action, available up there on the Images tab.

You've probably read a bit on various websites about Ace's "Dynamic Operation System" and the confirmed Xbox Live play with global rankings, but so far details on the game's "Allied Support System" have yet to be mentioned. We'll have more on that on April 2nd, when we kick off a weeklong look at Fires of Liberation and the entire Ace Combat series. Hands-on reports, interviews, developer retrospectives, we'll have it all. But, for right now, if we had to gush just one moment of pure joy from this game, it's all about vapor trails. Oh man, the trails. Seriously.

This Friday you'll have plenty of ways to show your Ace love by hitting Xbox Live Marketplace and downloading icons, art and concept art for your dashboard. Namco's official announcement states that the European release will be revealed at a later time.

Nintendo and Opera have announced that the final version of the Wii Internet Channel will now be available in April, a little later than the previous release date in March.

It's been delayed to allow last minute tweaks to the Opera browser to ensure a better surfing experience.

Scrolling and zooming are said to have been improved, as are start-up times and accessibility to favourites. It will also now feature buttons to quickly punch-in common Internet wordy-things, like "www" or "com" or "Hollyoaks", decreasing the amount of time you'll need to spend waving your arms about.

A test version has been available on the console since December, and the full banana will be free to download until June. If you happen to fall asleep for two months and miss this promotion, well, you'll have to fork out 500 Wii points for the browsing privileges.

Surfing the web is just one of the options available from the console's Menu Channels. There's also the Internet Channel, Disc Channel, Photo Channel, Mii Channel and Wii Shop Channel, as well as the Forecast Channel, which lets you see just how dismal the UK's weather is compared to other bits of the world. And then laugh.

Sony has confirmed to Eurogamer that dirty racer MotorStorm has been given a new in-game friends list to help you keep track of your muddy buddies.

The patch went live last night, and once downloaded lets you see which of your pals are around and what they're up to. And, rather obviously, you'll be able to invite them over for a spot of off-road mayhem.

However, if you're not on someone's buddy list you won't be able to join their game, stopping unwanted visitors ruining your fun. Apparently it's just Italians playing at the moment - as you might imagine, what with breaking the retail street date of PS3 and all that.

MotorStorm will be available on Friday at the PlayStation 3 launch, and is one of the best games in the line-up.

If you've had your fill of tossing virtual turtle shells at hapless virtual victims while racing around a virtual track, you can finally take your favorite Nintendo mascot for a spin around a real life track, thanks to the Nintendo Mario Kart DS Track Race Set. Unfortunately, we're guessing the novelty factor here is going to last for a good five laps or so before you realize that this thing is just as boring as every other slot racing set ever built.

We can't guarantee that any black Xboxen from here until the launch of the Xbox 360 Elite won't just be shots of the original 360 dev kit that was sent around, but we've already got our first batch of "confirmada" Elite pics that sprung up. Let's be honest here -- the only thing that's gonna be different is the black plastic (which we've been seeing for a while) and some new box art. The real and important differences, friends, will be under the hood, and it's those things we're stoked to find out more about.

Update: Our trusted source that confirmed the Elite let us know that these shots are quite fishy; they don't have the same plastics details as the real Elite, nor does the retail box match up. Sorry folks, chalk this one up to the usual group of bored, fanatical photoshoppers. ...
