    I just got the most recent version of the Madden franchise ('10) for the PS3. Can somebody explain to me why EA has separate networks for the different platforms, only allowing players to compete with people using the same console? Back in the day, there were large discrepancies between the consoles, but these days it seems like the Xbox and the PS3 are at least near the same level. After so many releases for this franchise, they've got to have a fairly standardized protocol for networking; it seems arbitrary not to let them compete. Or am I just missing something obvious? Is it just a matter of Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network not working together?"

    News/release from Bubbletune

    This plugin allows you to categorize your homebrew and games.
    A few more features were planned for this release, but they'll still take a while to finish and I figured I'd just release what I had. Special thanks to SchmilK for all the betatesting, it really saved me a lot of hassle.

    Changes:
    - Recoded entire project.
    - Added support for 5.50 GEN.
    - Added new mode, "Context menu", see below for more information (this replaces pre-game-menu mode).
    - Added new option under System Settings to pick your mode instead of the ctrl combo.
    - Added possibility to translate the plugin to your own language.
    - Order of your categories is now calcuated from their modification time instead of randomly.
    - Changed remap code, a lot of character and count limits should now be gone or decreased, including SCE limits.
    - Show All option was removed in order to aid the removal of certainth limits.
    - Fixed compatibility with a lot plugins.

    Instructions:
    Install it like any plugin in vsh.
    You can select the mode which you like to use under your System Settings menu, the following are availible:
    - Multiple MS, this will show a new memory stick icon for each category you have.
    - Context Mode, this will show a context menu when you press X on your game icon and lets you select the category (last selection will be remembered).
    Creating categories is simple, create a new folder in either GAME, GAME150, GAME5XX or ISO folder with the name of you category prefixed with CAT_ and fill it with everything you want in that category.

    Translation:
    This was mainly implemented because of the new integration with vsh, and it didn't look good to have an English string in other languages. You can translate the plugin by creating a text file at ms0:/seplugins/game_categories_xx.txt, where xx is the language code of your language. A list of language codes can be found in the readme. Note that if you just changed your language in vsh, you need to reboot to make the changes active (this will be fixed in a future version). A file game_categories_en.txt is included for translation purposes, but not necesarry to copy to your PSP, as English is embedded inside the plugin.

    Thanks:
    SchmilK - Betatesting

    Davee - Webhosting and compatibility with TX

    News from our pals over at Nintendomax:

    This is now a week since nintendomax has stalled, therefore we owe you some explanations.

    On August 21, 2009 in the morning, our accommodation was hung on a complaint of Tetris Holding LLC for this reason "we are hosting a homebrew that violates the copyright of the name Tetris. Notice that we did not see it coming because the mail box in question was not consulted by the team. The reasons TETRIS HOLDING LLC has protected his copyright is not challenged. We will remove from our database homebrew concerned.

    We do everything to solve the problem, normally the release should not delay. We will later a backup on another server to no longer have the same worries in the future.

    Moreover, it is returned to all the team is busy, it is certain that trime health and for my part I will be absent because I'm moving this weekend. Thus, it is likely, although our accommodation was restored in the coming days, as the revival of nintendomax drags another week or two.

    @ Soon.

    Hi!
    This a fresh port of the stella 2.3.5 to dingux, it has some hacks, but it seems to work nicely.
    As usual... put it in your SD Card under local/whatever and add an entry to your dmenu like:

    MenuItem Stella
    {
    Icon = "/usr/local/emus/stella/stella.png"
    Name = "Stella"
    Executable = "./stella"
    WorkDir = "/usr/local/emus/stella"
    Selector = no
    }

    Usual joypad up, down, left right, and A button.
    In menus, L jumps from control to control, A selects, and B cancels.
    L shows option menu.
    Start shows commands menu.
    Select to quit.
    Roms:

    Hi All,

    ColEm is one of the best emulator of the ColecoVision videogame system running on FreeBSD, HP-UX, SunOS, Solaris, Linux, and other Unix systems. There are also ports to MacOS, MSDOS, Windows, OS/2, PocketPC and other systems. See http://fms.komkon.org/ColEm/ for further informations.

    GP2X-Colem is a port on GP2X-F100 of my previous PSP port version of ColEm.

    What's new in version 1.1.0 :

    - A thumbnail image is now displayed in the file requester
    while selecting any file with the same name of a previously
    saved game (roms, keyboard, settings).
    It might be very helpful to recognize that game later if you
    have thousand different games in your rom folder !
    - Save state dates are displayed in the emulator window
    - Save state files are now saved using gzip compression
    (with STZ as file extention). It's much faster to save
    or load states now.
    You can use gzip or 7-zip to convert old STA to STZ.
    STA file format is still supported for loading, so you
    convert your previous saved files inside the emulator.
    (it's now easier to identify and to load the right save state slot)
    - Cheat support !
    - Memory monitoring engine to find your own cheat code !
    - Text editor to modify the global cheat.txt file
    - Text editor to write your own comments on games
    - Display first comment line while browsing game files
    - Auto fire support for second joystick
    - Zip rom files are decompressed in memory (much faster !)
    - Improve file requester with virtual keyboard to choose
    sequentially rom files beginning with a given letter
    - Add documentation for settings in help menu
    - Auto-fire mode, press RTrigger+X to switch it on/off
    - Add several new hotkeys :
    . settings such as fps, render mode, auto fire speed
    can now be directly modified inside the emulator
    (no need to enter in the settings menu)
    . quick save / quick load current state
    (no need to enter in the main menu)
    - Add ntsc/pal option and fix issue with default speed
    (emulator was too slow in ntsc mode)

    Sources are included, and this package is under the GNU public license,
    read COPYING.txt file for more information about it.
