Hey everyone. So I have been working on a update for LuaPlayer 0.20. Not for long but a few major changes that result in a huge speed boost.

I will take the rest from the readme files :

    What is LuaPlayer Euphoria ?

LuaPlayer Euphoria is a branch of LuaPlayer that is optimized for speed, Whilst staying true to
the ease of use and function names we have all grown to love.

What can it do? What makes it different to the normal LuaPlayer ?

It can display images up to 100%+ faster than
the default LuaPlayer, by automatically swizzling the images as there loaded.

It also features Mp3 support. This is done on the main processor for now. Don't worry however, this is a optimized mp3Player.
Whilst displaying a 480x272 image and playing a Mp3 file, LuaPlayer Euphoria can achieve
up to 228 FPS (Frames Per Second) running at only 222mhz!. (SEE SAMPLE DEMO FOR PROOF!)

It also features CPU Speed control. Which can be done by the user. So you can set the PSP's CPU to either : 100, 222, 266 or 333mhz.

Another feature, albeit trivial, is a built in FPS Function. By simply calling "showFPS()" you can see your game/applications
current FPS out of 60 frames. If you want to see its "True" FPS, comment out screen.waitVblankStart and pad = Controls.Read() - as these
    cap the framerate to 60.

The last feature (so far) is the ability to properly free images. I don't know if this worked before but anyway...
Simply call "freeImage(myImage)" (with myImage being the image you want to free) and it will remove the image from memory.
It goes without saying that you should not be displaying the image your trying to free at the time of freeing it.

+ A lot more to come!

It is slim and phat compatible. Should work on 1.0>5.xx firmwares. Should also work
    on chickHen.

Why use this over PGE or LuaPlayer HM ?

Well thats a good question. If you don't like the way PGE lua or LuaPlayer HM are set up (ie function names, calls)
and prefer the old lua player in that sense (just not the performance), then LuaPlayer Euphoria is the answer
    you have been looking for.

Where can I find the new functions list?

In the download see the "Functions & Features" text file.

Has all the usual function names changed?

No and they never will. Even with new features I am trying to keep
the naming convention and required function calls to a minimum. After all no-one likes having to call 4>6 functions just to initialize the graphics now do they

Are we going to see more in the future ?

Provided there is genuine interest from a decent sized group of people then yes. I wont be doing this
for the good of my health... lol.

So yeah, if there are enough people using it, and enough people interested in the project I will keep working on it.
I will also try my best to add any new features you desire.

If you would like to request a feature be added, please do so at the official forum : LuaPlayer Euphoria Forum

Paul Thurrott, a guy who should know, says the Zune HD is coming to us this September. NeoWin backs this up, saying Amazon will ship the device in September. Remember that this is all vapor until the device is in your hands, so take everything here with a healthy helping of salt. Check out our other coverage of Zune HD (including rumors of an international launch and Tegra graphics) to see what all this Zune HD hooplah is all about.

I noticed nobody has posted the reasons for visual error codes so I figured I'd put out what I know. A lot of these errors can be the results of any number of problems, especially with something like E74. So take these with a grain of salt. The explanation "general hardware failure" is an acceptable description for most of these because you would have to specifically look at each board to see what went wrong, but this might help with a few trivial errors, or help people pinpoint problem areas.

E64 - Dvd drive timed out during reset
E65 - Dvd drive is not DMA configured
E66 - Dvd drive pairing failure
E67 - Hard drive timed out during reset
E68 - Hard drive not DMA configured
E69 - Reading the HD Security sector failed
E70 - Hard drive not found
    E71 - Error within Xam
    E72 - Error within Xam
E73 - Couldn't calibrate HSIO Bus from edram
E74 - HSIO related, could be crc error, or many things.
    E75 - Ethernet - Couldn't read ethernet phy vendor
    E75 - Ethernet - wrong ethernet vendor
    E76 - Ethernet - Couldn't complete ethernet reset
E77 - Ethernet - phy request is already processing
    E77 - Ethernet - reading reg failed
E77 - Ethernet - Failed to write reg
    E78 - AsicId check failed
    E79 - Couldn't start xam.xex
    E80 - Wrong LDV version

The secondary error codes work as follows. Each blinking field represents 2 bits of an 8 bit hex value, or 1 byte. This byte being the "E" error code.

    1 blinking field = 01
    2 blinking fields = 10
    3 blinking fields = 11
    4 blinking fields = 00

For example, an led field sequence of 1031(crappy naming method) that some people have posted. It should really be be 1431 (that other method of naming is annoying). This means our 8 bit error code is 01001101 which when converted to hexadecimal becomes 0x4D and then to decimal as 77. so, 1031 is E77. So do the same method as before holding sync and pressing eject to get your secondary code, convert each to the proper bits, and then convert those to decimal, and you'll have your "E" error code. Hopefully this will help some people stuck with 3rods out of warranty and nothing displaying on screen to see what's wrong. Thanks to Tmbinc and redline99 for their help.

New release for Xbox 360 XNA:

Featuring physics based smashing action in space, Gum Drop defines a new way to play the top down space shooting genre by removing the shooting mechanic and adding the S.M.A.S.H(Structural Mining Automated Swinging Hammer ) system. The S.M.A.S.H system appeases the player's primal urge to smash up enemies, and collect the rewards of his smashing.

    * Fight in the colorful depths of outer space in a beautiful 2D top down view
    * Link to your S.M.A.S.H to swing it around or throw it at enemies for metal bending destruction
    * Leave you S.M.A.S.H unlinked and let it follow you around or direct it to S.M.A.S.H directly into your opponents
    * Fight over 15 different enemies of various shapes, sizes, and behaviors
    * Feed your base with Gum Drops to get more Power-Ups that will give you the advantage you need

Uberjack has posted some WIP news of his port of Vice the Commodore Systems emulator for the PSP:

VICE PSP is largely complete; I say “largely,” because the main thing holding it back at the moment is intermittent sound lag.

What is definitely going to be in the release:

The usual features present in my other computer emulator ports: virtual keyboard, state autoloading, per-game configurable input, peripheral indicators, state saving/loading
Support for tape images, disk images, cartridges. Each can be “inserted”, “ejected”, and auto-run (by which I mean that a specific program on tape/disk can be automatically run) separately
Several other things that are a side-effect of being a port of VICE, so to speak
The sound lag issue presents itself when emulator begins to skip frames - sound works perfectly (as far as VICE is concerned, anyway) otherwise. It would be fairly safe to say that once this is fixed, a release is imminent.

The big change is in the graphics when the great help of maxdéoxis. From the loading screen credits, all images are passed through the center of beauty. The theme is rather focused on the side windows vista and plays on the effects of light perfectly.
But I think the final images will be worth more than a thousand words!

So when the game starts, you are greeted by the main image of the game that shows us directly the theme of the game graphisque

Wait a little, you get the menu, too unrecognizable.

Here are the options available to you:

TWO-PART A: Start a party where one chose the code and find the other.

-RULES: 3 pages to describe the rules of this game of logic.

-CREDITS: Find information on this game

-QUIT: The option to not choose, it is back to XMB.

I will now explain the different modes:

    Solo part:
Choose the option "solo party". You will be asked the number of colors desired.

Get a little help and press: Cross. The game begins.

Hurry, there is a meter long!

Choose the 2nd option, "part 2".
The 1st player takes the psp and dials the code that the other will find.

    May the best win!

    Rules:
That little ignore these rules? ^ ^

To navigate between the three pages, use: r: and: l:.

    Credits:

Press: cross: to return to the menu.

    Quit:
    Back to the XMB

The game provides heated to the meninges of the players. Hang on!
However, note the absence of ADHOC mode chicky that had started but could not finish.
The other bad news is that the developer can not be released soon version 3, but another will begin Thursday I find it a great pity!

If you find bugs in the game, give him advice, help send a mail to t.gindre @ laposte.net.
Feel free to send messages of encouragement to try to have a v.3 but this remains unlikely.
Version 1 was a coded begun in November 2008. It is therefore 6 months working on it.

    Thank you.
