The Maker of the following Video has claimed to have hacked the PS3 and found a way to get games running off the hard drive, could this be the breakthrough for a major surge of homebrew (not the BDJ homebrew) for the PS3

Yes I know this is a bitter sounding news post but why not let the ranting out now rather than let it ruin a weekend……

So the HOME Beta Emails were sent out to those lucky few. Some people were not as lucky.

To quote from the email that was sent out…“We’ve chosen to offer access to Home to a select number of PLAYSTATION®3 owners, and as a valued member of PLAYSTATION®Network, you have been selected”

Now SCEE define valued please because looking at the forums and other news sites it seems people who have signed up to the PSN in 2008 and have less than 5 posts in the forums seem to have had more success than the likes of the owners who have had membership since late 2006 and spend more than a £1000 on PSN and BD games (not forgetting the BD films), lets not forget the amount of time these people spend online with their purchases.

Lets also remember that feature on the playstation website were you can add what hardware and software you own (of which I keep up to date religiously). It seems that feature is also worthless and pretty pointless.

So what did get you into the HOME Beta this month? I spoke to a friend at SONY in London and he told me that most people who bought MGS4 are the chosen ones. I can counter that claim tho so it may not be 100% true, but as I have spent over £1000 on PS3 titles and spent hours online the only game I did not purchase was MGS4, maybe it is true.

I wonder if Dan Hill - Home Service Manager can shed light on this outrageous situation? After all the Americans had to do something to have a chance of getting access to Home and that was a simple download of the HOME theme. Europeans are being chosen on some other ideals.

Lets just look back at some of the BETA testing and the testers that were chosen. Lets start with Warhawk. What a mess that was when released to the public, wtf were the Beta testers doing… messing about no doubt and rolling around IRC channels gloating they have beta, I suppose SONY chose those BETA testers via some arcane method.

So I can only see a “pending FAIL” if all the users are generally not bothered about the BETA side of things and just want to run about doing nothing to make the service more robust, youre not going to help the community are you!

So maybe in the future SONY get some proper testers in on the action, people who actually understand what being a BETA tester is all about.

Lets not forget about those people who were already on the Home Trial before events of the last day or 2, I know about 3 people who never use it at all, should you go through the accounts and remove those “dead” users to make room for more?

Please let us know if you have access and what you think you did right to get in on the action in the comments below.

Hey Everyone! I've been getting LOADS of Emails asking questions about 2.0. Unfortunately for the last couple of months I have gotten so much email that I can no longer respond to it, so I'll just say this to everyone: iJailBreak does NOT work on 2.0. iJailBreak most likely does NOT work on 1.1.5. iJailBreak no longer works as a jailbreak anymore, due to outdated community sources. (Installer is broken) iJailBreak will not be updated in the near future. If you'd like to jailbreak/unlock 2.0, use the iPhoneDevTeam's new PwnageTool 2.0 here. If you have a problem, Google around for the solution, or post to one of the many iPhone/iPod touch related forums.

    News/release from ryo

    Here's a second test release of GMenu2X.

There's not much new in this version but it solves a few issues of the previous test release, like the sistematic crashes occurring when changing clock frequency, and features a reworked virtual keyboard with touchscreen support.

There are some new utf8 characters supported that should provide what's needed for some additional translations. (for skinners: the font has changed so you may need to update your skins)

And there are also some optimizations to the code in various areas.

This should be very close to a final 0.10 release but it has not been tested througly and TS support is not yet complete.

    Download here: http://sourceforge.net/project/platf...4176/&abmode=1

With the next phase of PlayStation Home construction getting underway, we now have a clear picture of the region restrictions placed on the virtual world, at least those being implemented for the expanded beta. Users are apparently being matched to servers based on their consoles' native regions (which are not configurable), PS3 Fanboy reports. While this peculiar restriction will only affect the small percentage of PlayStation 3 owners whose consoles were imported from other regions, it counters the open access granted to PlayStation Store users, who can shop in any Store region from anywhere by setting up PSN accounts based in different regions. The Home region restrictions also mean that make-believers won't be mingling internationally nor will they be able to sign into their Japanese PSN IDs from an American console, for example, and hop onto a Japanese server.

PS3 Fanboy points out that the obvious explanation for the lockdown is optimized advertising. There's no sense in pushing American products on a UK gamer who is bird watching on a US server. Still, we're holding onto hope for some cross-regional opportunities, like tournaments or maybe exchange programs. Who's up for a semester in the Caribbean Home? ...

Snap Dragon Games has revealed Kore, a new 3D platform adventure for Wii.

"With three zany, kooky crackpots sharing a cybernetic K.O.R.E suit, insane action is guaranteed," promises the release.

The K.O.R.E suit gives its wearers special abilities. "Pixie becomes a pro at climbing, Madboy gains an iron fist, and the dog Rex develops astonishing senses of hearing and smell.

"Your job is to cleverly utilize their different abilities to free the kooky inventor Dr. Samuelsen from the evil Krank Brothers who are attacking from the center of the Earth."

It'll boast six worlds, as well as three obligatory Wii mini games inevitably featuring some form of Remote-waving action.

Next Thursday marks the release of Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty, the downloadable romp that extends the story that began in Ratchet & Clank Future (read our review of Quest for Booty right here). It turns out that not only does the game give you a new dose of platforming action, but it teases the next release as well.

After finishing the game, Insomniac tells us simply "The adventure continues Fall 2009". While we now know the date of the next release, we don't actually know what form it will be in, be it either another downloadable episode or a full-blown release, though we expect the latter. Sony representatives wouldn't tell us its form either, so we'll have to wait a bit longer to find out exactly what sort of game we should be expecting.

But at the very least, we know we'll be playing more Ratchet in just over a year. ...
