Nickspoon has ported FFPlay over to the GP2X, heres all the info:
It includes two versions - one with fixed point WMA (fast, but very buggy, and generally sounds quite bad when playing WMA, named ffplay) and one with floating point WMA (slow and choppy, but stable, named ffplay_soft). The one you choose won't affect anything other than WMA and WMV with audio on. The zip also includes sample scripts for running a movie called video.avi (with and without sound) and for running a music file called music.mp3 (with and without a wave display). MP3s run well at 130MHz. DivX runs fine at 200MHz. RM and RAM run OK at 200MHz. WMA and WMV don't run all that well, but WMV runs OK without sound at 200MHz.
Credit to soiaf for the fixed-point WMA, and all his work on that, and everything I hope he does in future, and of course credit to the FFMpeg team.

Left - Backward 10s
Right - Forward 10s
Up - Forward 60s
Down - Backward 60s
Y - Toggle Wave Display

Today, Nintendo announced the inclusion of a web browser for its portable powerhouse, the DS. Naturally, if the DS is getting web surfing capability, wouldn't the Revolution also see some of that action? According to Nintendo Gal, who thought to phone NOA to get the official word. According to the voice on the other line, "Revolution owners will have the option to purchase that functionality."
It seems fitting, but no concrete details have yet to be announced. We are hesitant to call this a confirmation, as the information came from a phone operator and not a higher-up (Shiggy, Iwata, or Reggie). Last week's Gamasutra question of the week dealt with the possibility of new genres for Nintendo's Revolution system. Some interesting answers from the industry, as always. From the article: "I would say the interesting part is not what new genres will come about, but how most existing genres will be transformed by this. Before the Eloader the only way of playing homebrew on Consoles up to v2.6 and infact beyond that is the PSP Adventure maker, well there has been a load of games that even i havent posted about and one looks like a real killer release, heres the games and any info:
T'alvi
T'alvi is a first-person point-and-click adventure game in the style of Myst(*). It features full-resolution pre-rendered pictures and animations. It was also the first full-length game ever released as a free download for legal 2.x PSP's.
