Jonz has released a new version of his Nes Emulator for the iPhone:

NES.app lets you play Nintendo games on your iPhone. It is a fully functional, feature-rich Nintendo emulator.

NES.app uses an emulator core we call NESCore, which we've forked from pNESx and InfoNES and re-engineered as a highly-portable and high-performance Nintendo emulator core.

In order to use NES.app, you will need ROM images of Nintendo games. ROM images are files containing the dumped instruction code from a physical cartridge. In many cases, you are legally entitled to posess a ROM imageof any game that you presently own. ROM images for NES are widely available online, or with the appropriate hardware, you can dump them yourself directly from the cartridge.

    Features
Multitouch: Use the directional pad + A + B, or other combinations
Landscape Mode: Turn the iPhone counter-clockwise to play in landscape mode
Zapper Tap: Tap objects on the screen to shoot them
Full Screen: Enlarge your NES picture to the max possible
Save State: Save an instant snapshot of your game and come back to it later
Game Genie: Use Game Genie cheat codes
    ... and many more
    NES.app is not iPhoneNES!
NES.app started as a fork of iPhoneNES v0.01, but has been completely rewritten to run very fast, and with many additional features including sound, multitouch support, full-screen, landscape mode, game genie codes, saved games and much more. It now contains zero code from the original iPhoneNES project.

Welcome to this week's Games Update, our weekly summary featuring all new product arrivals from the last seven days.

"Give up your human body for humanity" is the catch phrase of Too Human, the highlight of the week. Adventure as the cybernetic god Baldus and fight against the machines and evil intentions that threatens the existence of mankind.

The game takes place in a world modelled after Norse mythology with familiar names such as Loki, Hel and Odin popping up frequently. By comparing the flawed gods to the war machines (e.g. Loki and Hel are both immoral while Odin is really a computer system), the topic of humanity is questioned.

The clever blend of hi-tech machines and mythical elements produced a world which is both rustic and dazzlingly futuristic and provides plenty opportunities to show off the capabilities of your Xbox360™ systems.

The Asia version of Too Human has arrived and is available for US$ 49.90 only. Likewise, the US version will be arriving later this week and is sold for US$ 64.90 only.

Other versions released next week are the Japanese version and the First Print Limited Edition, both selling for the same price of US$ 64.90.

Be careful about loosing your way in the intriguing world of Too Human, let the official guide book point you to the right way to victory. The guide is available later this week for US$ 19.90 only.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Aside from Xbox360™, the other third generation console that gets a hot action adventure is PlayStation 3™.

Be a hero and save mankind in Vampire Rain: Altered Species [JPN and Asia versions]. Instead of preventing killing machines from swarming over the human world, you work in the dark in a Special Force Unit to kill Night Walkers and Blood Suckers from feeding off humans excessively.

A lot of action are available for Nintendo DS™ gamers. Let's start off with the US version of the highly acclaimed shooter, Bangai-O Spirits. With more highly capable weapons and more freedom with stage editing, this shooter is not only turning your portable console into an arcade, but a real battle field!

Save the world again in Sigma Harmonics and Tokyo Majin Gakuen: Kenfuuchou [Limited and Standard Editions]. While Sigma Harmonics took on a splendidly grand atmosphere reminiscent of the Taisho period in Japan, Tokyo Majin Gakuen took place in the modern days.

Find out the culprit who has been rewritting history and wiping out humans in Sigma Harmonics and discover the Fenshui veins in Tokyo Majin Gakuen and prevent it from falling into the wrong hands.

Escape from the wrath of the heavenly warriors in Harukanaru toki no naka de: Yume no ukihashi [Standard, Premium Box, Treasure Box]. Everybody in the first three installments of the hot romance game are coming together to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their parent company.

Cross the bridge from reality to the Japanese mythical world and date the guardian of your choice.

Take a break from your tasks of saving the world. Lead your team to victory in J-League Winning Eleven 2008 Club Championship. All the Japanese teams in the J-1 and J-2 leagues as well as quite a number of foreign teams make their appearance in the game. The controls are smoother and the games carries more modes. It is never too late to learn about soccer.

Fate/Tiger Colosseum Upper, the next game in the series is coming out next week, for those who has missed the first installment, here's your chance to grab a copy and save some cash. Fate/Tiger Colosseum came out as a best priced edition for your PSP, learn about the system and the moves and prepare yourself for the second installment.

Last week, the Brazilian Sega licensee released another iteration of the 8-bit platform they insist in keeping alive. It's called the Master System 3 (not to be confused with the classic Master System III). The new console has a "modern" design remarkably similar to the 1990's Mega Drive, and comes with 131 built-in, G-rated games. Opinions on the local blogs have been a bit harsh, criticizing the lack of a cartridge slot and steep price tag (about 133USD, or half a Playstation 2 in the gray market).

The Master System III comes with a pair of Mega Drive-ish six-button controllers -- I'm not sure what for: as far as I know the only SGM game to use more than two buttons was Tectoy's own Street Fighter II port, which is not included in the list (probably due to licensing issues). Somewhat amusingly, SGM3 also features composite video output --- old hardware dressed for a new world.

You should actually care about Princess Debut. It's developed by Cave, for one thing. For another, it is the first time that I know of that Natsume U.S. commissioned a project directly. But more than that, this is an actual good game for young girls - or seems to be. It's not insulting, it's cute, it has a proven game mechanic (it plays like Ouendan), and is basically just really pleasant to look at. Check out the video right here. Special thanks to the Natsume PR team for putting it on Vimeo when I asked!

You play as a princess, dancing with various partners, finding 20 costumes, and playing through an adventure mode (visual novel style) as well. The 3D is solid, the illustrations are competent and shoujo-y and nice, and if the story is well written, it might even be enjoyable as a light game for adults. I'm gonna play it, anyway! You dance with a bunny! The official U.S. site is here.

sumiguchi / spriteattack have posted an entry into the Neoflash Coding Contest:

A music/rythm game with 65 Songs, 5 Game modes, Motion Card and Guitar Grip support. More information at: www.videogameshero.com

It's too large to attached so Download Video Games Hero!

    Installation:
Extract the archive so that the vgh folder is on the root of your flash cart. Inside this folder you should have a gfx and a d folder each with many files. Use the vghero.nds for slot 1 carts and vghero.sc.nds for slot 2 (rename to .gba if necessary). The .nds (or gba) files can be placed where ever you like.

    1 Tour

VideoGamesHero’s primary game mode offer you 65 songs for your gaming pleasure.

    1.1 Difficulty
    Tour has 4 difficulty settings:
Easy - which has notes on three tracks
Medium - which has notes on four tracks
Hard - which has notes on all five tracks
Expert - which has even more notes than hard

Those who are new to rhythm games, or have problems at higher difficulties, try “easy” or “medium”. Otherwise you may be comfortable jumping in on the “hard” setting.

    1.2 Choosing a Song
You can navigate through the sets by taping on the < > icons with your stylus or using
left & right on the dpad. If a set is locked, you won't be able to select any songs.

When the song is available, you will see the name of the song along with your high-score
and ranking. Ranking is tracked for each skill level (and game mode) but only your overall high-score for that song is kept. Tap on the song, or navigate to it using the
D-Pad and tap again, or press A or Start to select it.

    1.3 Ready Menu
You have a few options available to you on the Ready menu:

Stage - There are 13 different stages (backgrounds) available in the game, but they
are only available once they are unlocked. Choose stage 0 for a random selection.
1 stage is available at the beginning and 3 can be unlocked in each difficulty. If you
play at higher difficulties only, you will still unlock all the stages.

Note: All 12 stages can be unlocked in “expert” mode if you haven't played easy/medium/hard.

Calibrate - If you find the notes to be out of sync with the music, try adjusting the
    calibration.

Normal/Flipped - use this to flip the note patterns. Normal has the colours lined up with Green, Red, Yellow, Blue, Orange from left to right, while Flipped has them in reversed order Orange, Blue, Yellow, Red, Green.

    1.4 Tour gameplay
Strike the right color as it's note passes over the hit box near the bottom of the top screen.

    D-Pad / Buttons
You strike a note by using the d-pad/buttons as indicated on the bottom screen.

    Stylus
You can also tap the appropriate color on the screen with your stylus.

    Guitar Grip
If you have a Guitar Grip, you can use it but note that the colors on the grip are disregarded. From left to right, use D-Pad Left, Blue, Yellow, Red, Green. Choose "Flipped" on the ready menu to line up the colors if you like.
If you forgot to insert the grip when you started the game, just pause the game (by
pressing start) and pop it in - it will be automatically detected.

    Scoring
Each note you hit is worth a set number of points depending on the difficulty setting.

    Easy - 30 points, Medium - 40 points, Hard & Expert = 50 points.

    Streaks
When you hit all the notes in the correct sequence, you will see coins turning white on the
bottom of the top screen. Once they have all turned white, your multiplier will be
increased to a maximum of 5x.

    Streak Bonus
Once you have hit 25 notes in a row you will be awarded 1000 points and a streak bonus icon will be shown on the screen. When it is visible, use the L and/or R shoulder buttons to gain even more points.

When you see sparks fly from the Streak Bonus, you've earned an additional 50 points.

You can earn hundreds of points with a single streak bonus in this way - but be careful - if you miss a note, the streak bonus is gone and so is your multiplier.

    Motion Support
Instead of using the L/R buttons for streak bonus, you can use your motion compatible
card and tilt your ds left and right to earn streak bonus points. If you forgot to insert your motion card, just pause the game (press start) and insert it. It will be automatically detected.

    Pause/Quit
Press start to pause the game and press start again to resume, or press Select to quit.

    1.5 Results Screen
After your game you will be presented with your score and your rating.
    Rating < 25 = 3 thumbs down (Fail)
    Rating < 50 = 2 thumbs down (Fail)
    Rating < 70 = 1 thumb down (Fail)
    Rating < 85 = 1 star (Success)
    Rating < 95 = 2 stars (Success)
    Rating >=95 = 3 stars (Success)

    Leaderboard
You can submit your score to the online leaderboard to compete with the rest of the
world. On submission you will be presented with the top 5 scores and your overall
ranking. Vist www.videogameshero.com to see all the scores.

Now you can choose to replay, continue (back to the song menu) or quit (back to the
    main menu)

    2. Bonus Modes
There are 4 bonus modes available.
