Famitsu has got details of the Japanese release of the Metal Gear Solid 4 soundtrack for us this morning - not terribly comprehensive details, but a taster at least of what those of you who've pre-ordered the UK special edition of the game will be getting for your extra cash.

Launching in Japan as a standalone package today (with an appropriately moody looking close-up of Snake's wrinkly face on the cover), the soundtrack comes on a single CD and contains 47 tracks.

It's composed, as ever, by the series' musical stalwarts Nobuko Toda and Harry Gregson-Williams, and on past experience, we'd suggest avoiding track listings if you don't want major spoilers.

This is, presumably, the same disc that you'll be getting if you pre-ordered the £79.99 special edition of Metal Gear Solid 4 from Play.com. You'll also get a six-inch figurine and a "Making Of" Blu-Ray disc.

If you just fancy picking up the soundtrack on its own, however, the Japanese standalone soundtrack costs 3045 Yen, which is about fifteen quid (or 19 Euro) in real money. ...

Nintendo has pledged that Wii Fit stocks will be replenished "as soon as possible", following recent shortages.

The full extent of the supply drought of the hugely popular exercise title was revealed with the release of UK chart.

With stock of the title almost completely drying up, the game dramatically plummeted out of the UK All Format Top 40 altogether, having been No2 in the listings last week. The remaining stock could only push the game to No15 in the Wii chart.

But while Nintendo admitted that "there are pockets of stock shortages in areas of the UK", a spokesman stressed "we are doing everything we can to replenish shortages as soon as possible.

"To this effect we are continuing to bring Wii Fit stock into retailers across the UK on a weekly basis," he added. ...

German developer Deck13 has taken the wraps off its next RPG project, Venetica - a 16th century romp which rather unusually casts you in the role of Death's daughter.

Yes, that Death. Skeleton, black robe, scythe - the eternal concept of death made corporeal. We're not sure where or when exactly he found time to shake his bones with a willing female, but he's got a daughter, she's called Scarlett, and you're playing her.

Information on the game is a little sparse at the moment, but we know that it's coming out on the PC and Xbox 360 sometime next year, and that it'll be published by dtp Entertainment.

Deck13, if the name isn't familiar to you, are a fairly well established creator of RPGs and adventure games in Germany. The Frankfurt based team was responsible for the Ankh series, as well as the more recent Jack Keane.

Pssxp is a homebrew snowboarding game made by me, Buddy4point0. In Pssxp, you're the snowboarder. Guide yourself down the slopes while avoiding trees, rocks, and snowmen, collect powerups and gain points. Try to beat all of the many difficulty settings and levels. Go ahead and take a run at everlasting mode and try to beat your highscore, have your family and friends try to beat your score too! I've put a lot of work into this game so give it a try and I guarantee you'll enjoy it.

Sorry about 1.2 not working. It worked up until I complied it so I didn't know until people started reporting it not working. The problem was that the complier uses lua 5.1 but luaplayer .16 uses lua 5.0. Therefore everyone got errors that the version of lua (5.1) was too high for the luaplayer (5.0) That was a big whoops on my part, so I'm sorry about that.

But enough of the bad news, time for the good news!
Version 1.2b not only has a working version of everything 1.2 had but it also has a few major improvements!

    • Compiled script works (Big whoops with 1.2)
    • Uses luaplayer .20 not .16
    • Alot more random combinations of trees, snowmen, and rocks (huge improvement)
    • Small bugfixes
    • Custom Game mode removed
    • Bug with Quitting (sometimes)

And in case you missed Version 1.2 (broken) here are the changes for it.
    • new scoring system in everlasting mode, with point bonus powerups
    • new unlockable menu
    • unlockable skifree inspired ending after level 3 is completed
    • Graphical Upgrades including shadows
    • game now runs at default clock speed (222), previously ran at max clock speed (333)
    • new loading screen
    • Cleaned up code alot, faster code
    • smaller overall filesize
    • new data input system
    • Other small changes and bugfixes (too many and too small to list)

Also as a special treat for messing up version 1.2, I think you guys have waited long enough to see the yeti.
(But you'll still have to unlock it to see the whole animation double-muahahahaha)

To install simply extract the zip file, then copy the Pssxp1.2b folder into you GAME150 folder and run from the game menu.
