lps has released a new version of his XMB Theme Manager for the PSP, heres the details posted:

    about:
App for fast changing XMB style of your PSP.
XMBTMv2 don’t flash any files to F0 (use Custom XMB plug-in from Alien2) – NO MORE BRICKS with wrong theme
    Unlimited themes supported.
Fully tested on my PSP 1004 TA-082 3.52M33-2

    Installation:
    1. Extract MS0 folder’s content to root of your MS
    2. Enable CXMB plug-in from recovery
    3. Run XMBTM from "Game/MS"
    4. Select some theme from app menu and press "Start" for use it
    5. enjoy

    Some Questions:

    Q. After installing the theme I see only black screen and no more.
    A. Maybe you use incorrect theme or theme with compressed PRXs (recompressed PRX modules are not supported on CXMB). Turn off your PSP and eject MS. Turn On PSP, insert MS and activate USB cjnnection. Manually delete files on folders (DO NOT DELETE THE FOLDERS) ms0:/cxmb/vsh/resource/, ms0:/cxmb/vsh/module/, ms0:/cxmb/font/, ms0:/cxmb/kn/.

    Q. How can I add new theme?
    A. download theme from web and extract to ms0:/themes/Your Theme/

    Example:
    ms0:/themes/Your Theme /screenstot.png – 258x147 preview image(optional)
    ms0:/themes/Your Theme /vsh/resource/ - RCOs, 01-12.bmp
    ms0:/themes/Your Theme /vsh/nodule/ - PRXs.
    ms0:/themes/Your Theme /font/ - fonts
    ms0:/themes/Your Theme /kn/ - pspbtcnf.bin

    Hi All,

For those who has missed the beginning, Stella is on of the best emulator of Atari 2600
game console, running on many different systems, such as Linux, Solaris, Windows,
    MacOS/X, WinCE, OS/2, GP2X.

It has been written initially by Bradford Mott, see http://stella.sourceforge.net/ for details.

PSP2600 is a port on PSP of the version v2.2 of Stella. It's based on the work of * Aenea *
who was the first to port Stella to PSP, and David Voswinkel who's now in charge
of the PSP port in Stella team.

It has been developped on linux for Firmware 3.x-OE and for PSP-slim.

What's new in this version ?

    - Compatible with custom firmwares 3.x and PSP-slim
    - Add a simple intro splash screen
    - Support iso8859-1 fonts in print text functions
(might be useful to translate psp2600 menus in german, french ...)
    - Bug fix in file requester

How to use it ? Everything is in the README.txt file.

Sources are included, and this package is under the GNU public license,
read COPYING.txt file for more information about it.

*** Many thanks to Pakos210 for the PSP-slim test ***

You can download it on my blog : http://zx81.zx81.free.fr/

    Enjoy,

    Zx.

News/release from JasonUK of a new release of his PRX Decrypter:

    1.6 --> 1.7
    - Fully compatible with HEN/2.71/3.xx kernel/3.60 M33 - Just copy PRXdecrypter_3XX folder to GAME. Have fun, firmware modders.
` OE and M33 users should also use this version, just put it in GAME352 or GAME (if you have that set to the 3.52 kernel)
` 1.50 users (if any of you still exist) or those who want to use the 1.50 kernel, use the kxploited version.
` I will maintain this version in case the 3.XX kernel changes significantly which breaks PRXdecrypter
    - Added 3.60 and 3.7X keys
    - HEN/3.XX version doesn't need sysmem_rlz.prx for RLZ decompression as it uses the function from the 3.xx kernel
    - Huge internal cleanup with clearer messages, better error handling and more speed.
    - Improved logging (logs almost everything now)
    - Press O to UnSignCheck all files in the ms0:/enc folder
    - Press RIGHT on the D-PAD to extract reboot_02g.bin from loadexec_reboot_02g.prx (from 3.60 or higher)

The HEN/3.xx version will not run on the 1.50 kernel, and the 1.50 kernel version will not run on the 3.xx kernel.
If you run the wrong version for the kernel you are using, the application will exit.

Note: SystemCtrl.prx from M33 3.52-3 or higher will not decompress as it uses a custom SignCheck. I might add support for this file next version.

Pokemon fans worldwide now have a globe-spanning Web site with which to track their favorite characters and research potential trades.

The Pokemon Global Trade Station Web site is a companion to the existing Trade Station system that allows Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl owners to swap creatures over the Nintendo DS wi-fi connection.

The new site can be reached via any Internet-connected computer and will let users see which Pokemon are the most popular to trade, provide statistics about the number of trades completed and allow them to bookmark their favorite Pokemon.

The site will operate in seven different languages and inform users about the nation they're "visiting" electronically. Users can also listen to audio files to learn how to say "hello" and "thank you" in select countries' languages.

"Pokemon is now truly global in nature," said George Harrison, Nintendo of America's senior vice president of marketing and corporate communications. "A Pokemon trainer from Chicago can be traveling in Sydney and trade one of their Pokemon with another owner in Helsinki."

Sounds like a fun trip. Let's hope it won't break any international wildlife laws.

The site went live this weekend.

Source: NRK Spiller (translated by me).

Halo 3, the most hyped game of the year, should not be on the market before 26 September. But a Norwegian store was the first in the world to sell it.

Marked and communications chief of Expert, Trond Bentestuen, tells Spiller.no that five copies of the game have been sold from an Expert store in Stavanger.

    - We're in dialog with the customers that have bought the game, Bentestuen says. This is to make sure that the customers that bought the game keep it to themselves. We're sure these are serious gamers that won't do anything silly. Bentestuen says that Expert does not have the right to crave the games back.

Expert does not want to tell who the lucky owners are. - The five Halo 3-copies were sold by mistake. We have now gone through the routines to make sure this won't happen again in other Expert stores.

Bentestuen says that when games arrive so long before the release date, they have the responsibility of keeping them from being sold. But this time the routines failed. Microsoft does not wish to comment the case to Spiller.no.

On the Norwegian IT site, ITavisen's forums, one of the lucky owners commented this on Saturday (translated, so all rights reserved):
I couldn't believe my own eyes. Ahead of me in the games section of Expert was Halo 3. I equipped my VISA card, and went straight home to try it. From what I can see, Expert has now stopped selling the game after what was a mistake from their side. I run through it with a friend yesterday, but I won't spoil the ending.

In addition to that, another person by the nick of MOCAMBO who has got their hands on Halo 3, has posted more pictures (including spoilers, so beware!) on the Halo Fans Forums here. ...

    Hi All,

PSPIRC is a basic IRC client for the PSP.

    * What's new in this version ? *

    - Add all iso8859-1 characters in danzeff virtual keyboard
    - All text fonts are now compatible with iso8859-1 characters
    - Bug fix in IR keyboard .ini files with UTF8 specification
(for example mapping string such as "u+c3a0" didn't work properly)
    - New targus mapping with french characters mapped from ALT 1 up to ALT -
(see targus-include.ini file for more details)

    * Credits and license : *

It is mainly based on the IRC engine written by Danzel, and the user interface i wrote for PSPSSH.

The IR keyboard support is based on the work of Harald Fielker (author of the PSP IR Keyboard Library) with a new patch from Craig to support Sprint PCS IR keyboard.

This software is distributed under GNU V2 License, see GPLV2.txt file for all details and information about it.

It has been developed on linux for Firmware 1.5 and 3.40-OE, and for the IR keyboard part it has been tested using a Targus Universal IR Wireless keyboard.

How to use it ? Everything is in the README.txt file.

You can download it on my blog : http://zx81.zx81.free.fr/

Many thanks to Danzel for his Virtual kerboard and his IRC stuff, and to all PSPSDK developpers.

Special thanks to HookBott for graphics, splash screen and icons, and to Craig for his Sprint IR keyboard driver.

    Enjoy,

    Zx

When Sony's Dave Karraker left the company for the greener, more distilled pastures of vodka marketing, the company was temporarily left without a mouthpiece for PlayStation 3 and PSP issues. That gap has now been filled by Scott A. Steinberg. Steinberg seems to have the right sort of resume for the job, after working with Sega during the Genesis days. Since then, he's worked with Crystal Dynamics, Eidos and at the (legitimate, but less cool) Napster. He'll take over as Vice President of Product Marketing for SCEA on October 1.

Though not quite the maelstrom that Karraker walked into, we doubt Steinberg's in for anything close to a cakewalk. That said, this is a man who probably, at some point, had to justify the existence of the 32X ("The polygons are gouraud shaded!"), so it's not exactly his first time at the rodeo. ...

Nintendo has asked South Korean prosecutors to investigate local websites that have uploaded illegal pirate copies of DS games.

According to the Financial Times, the move marks the first time the Japanese video games maker has called upon prosecutors in Asia to help combat piracy.

Nintendo’s Korean unit filed the complaint today to the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office, accusing some internet users of uploading pirated copies of software – and web operators of permitting the incidents.

"Nintendo will take further measures if copyright violations continue," the company said in a statement.

Nintendo only established a presence in the Korean market last year and began selling its DS Lite handheld games player in January. Sales reached 270,000 units in only four months. ...

EA has released a handful of new screens for the 360 and PS3 versions of kick-'em-up FIFA 08. But they're not actual screens, they're fancy ones that give you no idea of how the game is played. One day they'll learn...

So the playable demo's been doing the rounds now on both 360 and PS3 but what did you think? Here are a few comments from the forum taken word for word.

DaRockwilder1: The PS3 version looks awful compared to the 360. Colours look blander and the graphics look far too jagged, whereas the 360 version is smooth.

Gaz Vonhammer: first impressions go a long way, my first impression fifa not all that.

Wakey: well it took ages to download but now i got it its bloody brilliant

shellster2: Slow and it didn't feel like football to me. I must be too used to playing Pro Evo.

bigboss50: quick impressions - Nice and fluid football all good but the game really shines when you change the camera to pro and then you play it like the new "be a pro mode" cant wait to play 5v5 online.
