TeamCyclops are pleased to announce the completion of the CyclopsDS Evolution, the most advanced media enhancer currently available for NDS!

    Product Overview
CycloDS Evolution is a multi-functional Micro SD adapter for NDS and NDS Lite (Slot 1) which allows you to play games, listen to MP3's, view images, read e-books and enjoy the vast collection of homebrew applications for NDS. You can also take advantage of the inbuilt cheat code system to enjoy more freedom with your favourite games.

CycloDS Evolution is the world’s most advanced Media Enhancer for NDS Lite and NDS. Boasting superior functionality, European design and quality components, CycloDS Evolution is unparalleled in its field.

The unique enhanced mode offers powerful, unique features during game play which are activated through an in-game menu. These features include in-game LCD brightness adjustment, SlowMotion mode and in-game reset. The cheat code engine is directly compatible with Action Replay codes and CycloDS Evolution comes bundled with cheat codes for over 300 games so you can get started right away without any fuss.

CycloDS Evolution’s inbuilt OS can run commercial ROM’s and homebrew software without the need for any patching on the users part. ROM loading is fast and trouble free, simply browse to the game you want to play and tap to execute. You don’t even need to apply DLDI patches to your homebrew software; CycloDS Evolution takes care of this for you with its automatic DLDI patching feature.

Evolution loads media from MicroSD cards, which means you’re free to buy more memory at any time, never constrained by the boundaries of onboard flash memory. Transferring games and homebrew software is simple using the supplied MicroSD USB reader. Simply connect to your PC and drag & drop the desired files onto your MicroSD card.

Listen to MP3’s, watch videos or even read e-books via Moonshell. The Moonshell multimedia application will maximize the versatility of your handheld console.

The CycloDS Evolution GUI was designed with user friendliness in mind and can be operated exclusively with the stylus if desired. Skinning is supported which means you’ll always have a fresh view of our product at your fingertips. The user interface is multi-lingual, currently supporting the following languages: English, French, German, Italian, Korean, Spanish, Latin American Spanish and Portuguese.

Game sharing is painless with CycloDS Evolution. Unlike most other devices on the market, CycloDS Evolution supports single card download play even with trouble games such as Mario Kart DS and New Super Mario Bros.

CycloDS Evolution comes from the creators of the world renowned CycloWiz - the first ever upgradeable Wii modchip. We surprised many by doing things the critics thought impossible, now we’re back on DS for more firsts.

Noxa has posted another screenshot and a little update on his PSP Emulator for Windows:

Trying to find something else to work on; ToE is one of my favorite games so that's the next logical choice. Having some issues, but the logo shows up!

GPF has downloaded and compiled the source thats on the site and can verify the project is real for any doubters out there.

This has the looks to be one of the best tools for developers to test their releases even without owning a PSP. ...

    News/release from David Rudie

I have released v0.4.3 a little earlier than I expected. It just took some time to sit down and think out a really simple solution. To my surprise, the server already had support for specifying a port and device. I guess I had overlooked this before. WiFiController is now taking advantage of this.

WHAT THIS IS AND WHAT THIS DOES
This basically turns your Sony PSP into a controller for your PC (running Microsoft Windows). How it works is that PPJoy provides a way to create a virtual joystick. We can then communicate with this virtual joystick as though it were a real joystick. This is accomplished by running a server in Microsoft Windows. The server just runs in the background waiting for a connection. When you start the WiFiController program on your Sony PSP it will establish a network connection over wireless using infrastructure mode. Once it establishes a connection and obtains an IP address it will connect to the server running on your PC. Once it has connected to your PC it will act just like a regular joystick.

    CHANGES

    v0.4.3
Renamed WiFiController.exe to WiFiServer.exe so it won't be confused for the actual PSP application itself.
Added the ability to act as up to 4 separate controllers.
Extended the life of some messages by 1 second. (This isn't in the CHANGES file itself.)

There's a bumper batch of handheld releases hitting the shelves today so if you prefer your gaming to be presented in 1080p high definition ,on a screen the size of a shed with 5.1 surround sound booming so loud it could deafen babies, you're likely to be disappointed. But if you like to curl up on the sofa to secretly play your favourite handheld as your other half tries to force you to watch Neighbours then you're in luck.

First up is island adventure Lost in Blue 2 on DS, a game in which you and a female companion try to survive on a desert island with only coconut milk to quench your thirst. Unfortunately the sequel does little to tackle the frustrations of the original, leaving us to score it 5.5 and say: "Lost in Blue 2 does do some things new, but it's just not enough. Its enhancements over its predecessor are walled off, barriered behind the roadblock of frustration in the hours of investment it takes to even get to them."

For those who fancy something with more action there's Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters on PSP. It scored an impressive 9.0 and our US colleagues couldn't withhold their unbridled excitement for this enjoyable action game. "It has everything a triple-A PSP game should have," they enthused. "It's packed with fantastic single-player content, has a strong multiplayer element, boasts a great visual and thematic presentation and excels with razor-sharp gameplay mechanics."

Elsewhere in handheld land, action-puzzler Exit 2 on PSP scored a 'good' 7.5, DS poker simulation World Championship Poker Deluxe Series raised its stakes and got a 7.0 and Innocent Life: A Futuristic Harvest Moon was blessed with a passable 6.9.

Meanwhile, in the world of home consoles, 505 Games is showing the Wii some love with two new titles. The first, Cooking Mama: Cook Off, is a Wii version of the popular DS title, although some of its ingredients obviously turned mouldy during translation and it only mustered up a 5.8. Bust-a-Move Bash! faired no better, getting a kick in the nuts with a 5.3.

All is not lost though, home console owners! Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars on Xbox 360 was awarded a healthy 8.2 and our US brothers concluded, "The fast paced nature of the game can make things a little bit frustrating in the story mode, especially when you can't quickly reload a mission once things go sour. Even so, the presentation and good mission design work with the decent controls to make for an enjoyable game."

That's it for this week. Be sure to tune in next week when we'll see if handhelds will continue to rule the shop shelves. ...
