Just yesterday Team M33 announced that they are to take a short break before releasing their latest custom firmware to teach lamers how to respect developers. Like true developers, they were true to their word, it was a one day break! Today they have released their latest v3.71 custom firmware for PSP.

    Here is the readme:

    3.71 M33 by M33=Dark_AleX

    Changes in 3.71 M33:
    - Now uses 3.71
    - VSH Menu is not longer launched using HOME key, but using SELECT now. This is to not interfere with the XMB function of home, which is now more useful in this firmware.
    - Psp Slim: umdcache was allocating memory even when homebrew was launched, wasting memory that homebrew programs may want to use. Now umdcache module is stopped before it can allocate any memory, only in the case homebrew is launched. Also, memory is unprotected for user memory usage by M33 core (only when homebrew is launched). Developer, for a sample of how to use the extra memory, see the extra ram sample of the M33 sdk.
    - Both version boot now from 3.XX ipl, and are independent of 1.50. The main installer will not install 1.50 kernel anymore. A 1.50 kernel addon for 3.71 M33 that will install inside 3.71 M33 will be released in a few days (for fat only)

Note: due to some changes in kernel nids by Sony, you can expect a lot of kernel plugins not working anymore.

Programmers: refer to the sdk readme for details.

    Installation instructions:
First method for both psp, the prefered when possible:
Requeriments: a fat psp slim with 3.52 M33-3 or 3.52 M33-4. Previous versions of M33 won't work, due to a bug that affects them and OE; or a psp slim with 3.60 M33.
    - Copy the UPDATE directory into /PSP/GAME/UPDATE and copy the EBOOT.PBP of the 3.71 Sony updater there but with name "371.PBP". Note: the program will not even show if you copy it to a different folder than that.
    - If you are in the fat psp, make sure you have configured the psp to run the game folder in the 3.XX kernel.
    - Execute the program, it requires 78% of battery. If you have idstorage corrupted due to a downgrader, the program will ask you to correct it automatically so the update can continue.
    - Press X, and the Sony updater will begin. Sit and enjoy while Sony code installs 3.71 M33
    - When finished, the updater will ask you to reboot (pressing X or O). DO IT. Do not skip this step shutting down the psp by yourself, or you'll end with a brick.
    - You should be now in 3.71 M33

Unbricker for both psp slim&fat and 1.50 kernel installer for fat 3.71 M33, will be released in few days... and it will be last thing from me.

Nervegas has released a new version of his Nes Emulator for the iPhone:

NES.app uses the popular InfoNES emulation core to mimic the 6502 processor in a Nintendo Entertainment System, allowing you to play ROM dumps of games designed for the NES console. ROM dumps are files containing the dumped instruction code from a physical cartridge. In many cases, you are legally entitled to posess a ROM dump of any game that you presently own. ROM images for NES are widely available online, or with the appropriate hardware, you can dump them yourself directly from the cartridge.

NES.app started as a fork based on the same original code as iPhoneNES, but has been completely rewritten to run very fast, and with many additional features such as sound, game genie, saved games, and full screen support.

1.4.1 [nervegas] Updated mapper 118, added save-state (Pro Sport Hockey)
Updated mapper 119, rendering issues still exist however
    Cleanup mapper 1 (unnecessary reset)
    Cleanup IRQs in mapper 4
Began work on list of unsupported mappers (5, 13, 21, 119)
[jordan] Mapper 4 fixes (fixes Star Wars, TMNT 3)
[nervegas] More mapper 4 IRQ fixes (Rolling Thunder issues again)
[jordan] Mapper 0 fix for games without VROM (BurgerTime)
[nervegas] Step 10 instead of 8 before NMI for GI Joe, Bad Dudes

    News/release from Joyrider:

Willems Soft / joyrider, released his first port ever today being lbreakout by michael speck. It's a breakout game with all the bells and whistles it needs. Such as specials and ability to create customn levels.

These are the things i added / changed :
    - Removed option to select full screen / windowed mode, it stays on windowed since trying to run something "fullscreen on the gp2x" makes the game crash.
    - Added functions to handle gp2x buttons. In the same basic layout as the game originally used.
    - Added sync(); command to make sure all data is written to the SD card.
    - fixed a really small bug with high scores not being able to be saved, at least it wouldn't until i made the change
    - Changed default player name / profile to "GP2X"
    - Added default buttons for the gp2 (they can not be changed)
    - Added option change volume with the gp2x keys.

Archilolo has posted a new version of his pong game for the PSP, heres whats new:

version 0.2 Improvement of the code, additions of step badly of elements.
    * operational score
    * progressive acceleration of the ball
    * correction of bugs (that made odd when I do not say it for someone else; I did not realize to what a not reading again and to improve a code, was this simple, could be testing! )
    * improvement of the management of the collisions: they is more precise from now on, and that adapts to all the sizes of sprite (as well for the rackets as for the ball)… but in fact, I still have problems with the racket of left!
    * rotation of the ball: a small funny effect which obliged me to re-examine all the tests of collision!
    * possibility of deforming the ball (with the analogical stick). Attention, that tends to make plant the play! that does not change anything with the way in which one plays; therefore, I think that I will transfer it in the long term; but while waiting, I find that funny
    * new graphics; and especially, introduction of the innénarable

    News/release from Birslip:

Good evening, a few weeks ago, I discovered this play. The concept is very simple, the history even more. A kind of Merlin Echanteur démene to prevent that its castle with him is invades by robots. This small play is adapted perfectly to the DS, what could be more natural than to draw incongruous forms on a screen of a few centimetres broad? It is thus yesterday evening, between the dinner and the douzes blows of midnight that I undertook the remake of this play on Nintendo DS. Helping PAlib, here me is this evening with a version functional. Music, graphics and other detections of forms function in truth. The only lack is the recording of the scores by WiFi, which will not delay (can be only if in fact). Therefore, this evening I places at the disposal this mini play. With regard to the authorizations, I have any on behalf of the Nitrome studio, to tell the truth I of it did not ask, there I just carried out this bearing to laugh, and to be able to play on DS!

Addendum: I am not responsible at all owing to the fact that you have problems to draw certain forms… But I tested and made tested, normally the pattern recognition goes to the hair. If you appercevez a bug, do not hesitate to bring it back!

Graph05 has released a new version of his Karoake app for the DS

    Changelog:

    - new graphic interface (with a beautiful range well smashed, hein Molusk)
    - improvement of the file concerning the music
    - editor of karaokés with half made, I wait to finish it to place it at the disposal

    What remains to be made:

    - not to include the music with compilation, but to put an external file on the memory board
there - to play the music (for the moment is still necessary to play it in bottom on the PC….)
    - correction of the remaining bugs (notemment them “@” which are posted at the end)
    - to finish the editor, even to include it in the play (for the moment it is an external prog')
    - to add a splash screen and a menu (or one chooses between the play and the editor)

Here approximately it has not badly remained of thing to make Désolé not have updated for one week, but what took the most time to me it was the synchronization of the music: /

Brunni has released a new emulator for the DS, heres the details:

    Hello everyone

I launched out in one moved GB for the NDS, while leaving on DSBoy. I know that at the base it was not terrible (and especially ultra slow), but I tried to better do my.

There was already some releases deprived before that, chancune making improvements in general at the level speed and returned.

23.09.2007: Version 0.4, Improved thoroughly the speed of the CPU core thanks to the direct translation of the PC (to avoid to have to say for example yew addresses between 0x0000 and 0x2000 Romanian return [addresses] etc to each instruction). More various modifications in the structure of the core to accelerate. One can return to the menu of selection of ROMs with L+R but that does not go well (often that plants or slows down with the launching of the next play).
