With the PS3 SingStar on its way in June (for Europe), we've heard very little about what specific tracks would make their way onto the disc. Turns out it doesn't really matter since we can download nearly anything we want. Why? Here's a quote from Game Director Paulina Bozek:


"The SingStore is up and running here in the studio, and we've got hundreds of songs to download, at our fingertips. Finally we can browse through hundreds of songs and download exactly the tunes we want – it's fantastic to have the variety and choice. We're also starting to think about all the less known songs that we want to put up there. It's all digital now, so space is no longer at a premium. We no longer have to agonize over the perfect 30 songs on the disc and we're looking forward to having some fun with it. I recently had a request for the band The Pixies from a journalist and it would be great to know what everybody out there wants, so if you have any special requests, let us know in the comments to this blog."


So the game is done, but they're taking requests? Everyone, leave them a comment on their blog requesting your favorite song or artist. Since I love music beyond belief, I've got a few ideas myself. Go! ...

It seems folks love those Mini Mario toys. So much so that the Mario Toy Company has expanded the line to include Mini Donkey Kong, Mini Toad and Mini Peach figures to the series. With all these toys bringing him more money than he knows what to do with, Mario decides to fulfill his lifelong dream and open a theme park called Super Mini Mario World.

The opening-day crowd includes Pauline and Donkey Kong, who immediately falls head over heels for the lovely lass. The proud ape tries to show off his Mini DK toy to Pauline, but she picks the Mini Mario toy over his and the jealous Donkey Kong becomes enraged. He smashes the displays, destroys the toys and takes Pauline to the top floor of the amusement park. Players must find Pauline and save the day. ...

Gyakuten Saiban 4 is the forth installment in Capcom's popular Japanese court room simulation game. This release has been developed for the Nintendo DS™ and is no remake of previous Gameboy Advance™ releases.

The game takes place seven years after Gyakuten Saiban 3 (so far only released on GBA™ in Japan) and is the first game in the series that no longer features Phoenix Wright (Ryuuichi Naruhodoh in Japanese) as the main character. This time, you take the role as Housuke Odoroki, a 22-year-old lawyer fresh out of school. His legal partner is a magician named Minuki, his mentor is named Garyu Kirihito, and his prosecuting rival is Kirihito's younger brother and famous rock star, Garyu Kyoya.

Once again, your task in this game is to gather evidence, interview witnesses, and survey crime scenes to prove yourself. A new feature is the Minuku System. The bracelet on Odoroki's left arm can be used to zoom in on witnesses to gather information about them. It is used primarily in court to look for motions or actions made by witnesses that show nervousness, like playing with one's fingers. The move even comes with a new phrase, "SOKO DA!" which in English means "right there!" ...

Something's afoot on the iTunes store. First we notice MGM/United Artists (MGM/UA) movies start showing up on the store in the New Releases area, with a few MGM flicks on board, albeit moldy oldies such as Mad Max, Rocky, Dances with Wolves and Robocop. United Artists (which is actually an MGM company) so far checks in with just one movie, the don't-forget-to-miss-it Ronin. Slim pickings so far, but added to the current iTunes list of movies from Lionsgate, Paramount and Disney, at least it's a little better.

At the same time, the free Washington Post video wonkcast is now offered up on the iTunes store in 720p. Sure, Apple has served up quite a few trailers in HD on its website, but could this be foreshadowing of 720p-ness to come on iTunes? Strangely enough, 720p needs to be down-rezzed to play back on an iPod. But 720p offerings give one more good reason to consider the Apple TV hardware, which after all, is capable of that lowest HD rez.

In light of yesterday's rumors about Zune 2.0, I'd remembered an anon tip that came in two weeks ago along with this puzzling photograph of a Zune with an approximate 16:9 wide screen. (Compare that to ye old Zune 1.0's screen) I dismissed it then, but now, it makes a little more sense with all this talk of a screen covering 75% of the surface. We're not ones to say if its real or fake. The angle at which the photo is taken would make it harder to hack for an amateur Pchopper. But you can see some strange pixelation on the right side of the screen that looks like someone took a retouching tool to it, and there appears to be a seam higher up on the LCD. It's hard to tell at this resolution. The rest of the email verifies last night's rumor, except for the fact that this 16:9 Zune is sized like the HDD Zune. The info gathered by Zune Scene from a Microsoft employee claims that only the flash Zune had the wider screen. Keep those tips coming, friends. We can't report this one without good sources.

And please remember, these are all rumors. Nothing's official until Microsoft says it is. So don't let your hopes go wild. Steady as she goes. ...
