Yeah i know most of you dislike off topic news but today someone called xexter has released the worlds first emulator for the Xbox 360 and it works via the Media Centre, now this means we dont have to bother with Modchips (at least for this release)

Xexter has found a way to get a Nes Emulator working on the Xbox 360 via MCE, heres a few screens:

I've attached a link to a version of NESCafe that works through Media Center on the Xbox 360. This is currently setup to run at 480p (Widescreen). You can edit the nes.htm file if it does not fit correctly on your screen. I haven't found a way to add a menu for the roms list so you will have to edit the nes.htm and change to whatever Nes rom you want to play. I've included a Public Domain rom for testing but have verified Zelda1-2, Excitebike, and TecmoBowl and all worked.

INSTALL: You will need to extract the rar into Cocuments and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Accessories\Media Center\Media Center Programs\ on your media center box. It took a bit for the icon to show up under More Programs but it finally will.

NOTES: Sound is not functioning, Media Center 2005 is required. If it locks up you will need to run something that warns you that it is a web page and check the box that says "Don't show this again". Once you do that it should run fine. I created an MCL that just went to Google and then checked that box. I've also attached an image with the mapping of the Xbox Controller to the corresponding keyboard keys.

Xport released a new version of MednafenX-Lynx, MednafenX-NES and MednafenX-PCE.

What's new/fixed:

*(ALL) Rewind support enabled. Two new button definitions: "Turn On/Off Rewind" and "Rewind". Map them to whatever buttons you want in controller configuration
*(ALL) Should no longer crash in 1080i mode (memory limitation issue)
*(ALL) Error messages when loading games should provide meaningful feedback as to why it has failed.
*(ALL) Possible fix to garbled screen upon starting.
*(ALL) Filename Filter.
*(ALL) Updated text file viewer.
*(ALL) Move DPAD left/right on save state slot to inc/dec slot number.
*(PCE) Implemented 6-button pad. Toggle it on the game configuration menu.
*(PCE) PCE mouse support. Toggle it from game configuration. Use the Left Analog stick or a real USB mouse to control it.
*(PCE) Made main menu have 8 lines.
*(PCE) Audio tracks read from WAV, OGG, or inside BIN files had some distortion and were making the gameplay choppy in certain parts. This is now fixed.
*(PCE) Games that play a specific range of audio sectors from inside an audio track were not starting/stopping at the correct locations when played from an MP3 file. This is fixed, but it will only work correctly if your MP3 files are *not* VBR. They should be constant bitrate.
*(PCE) OGG/WAV/PCM files cannot be read across a network or from ISO9660 files (i.e. your S:\, RLX:\ or SMB:\ drives). An error message will tell you this now instead of the program crashing.
*(PCE) Improved support for ZIP files that have more than one file in them.
*(NES) Game Genie implemented.
*(NES) Use USB mouse to control light gun
*(NES) Made main menu have 7 lines.
*(Lynx) Removed "Launch Inserted CD" menu option (for obvious reasons)

Nintendo Co, the world's biggest maker of handheld video-game players, said a shortage of its DS portable video-game players in Japan may ease next month as the company adds more production capacity.

"I'm hopeful in the latter half of April we can get rid of the terrible, terrible shortage situation that we are facing with the Nintendo DS right now," President Satoru Iwata said in an interview on Thursday at the Game Developers Conference in San Jose, California. Current demand is "unpredictable," said Iwata, who spoke through a translator.

Demand for the device is being fueled by consumers who aren't gamers and want to play Nintendo's puzzle games, Iwata said. Satisfying customers looking to purchase the DS, which allows people to play games by touching one of its two screens, will be critical for Nintendo as rival Sony Corp adds features such as a new Web browser to its PlayStation Portable.

Kyoto-based Nintendo, which has sold more than 6 million DS handhelds in Japan since it was introduced in December 2004, earlier this month introduced a smaller version of the DS, called the DS Lite. Nintendo will release the DS Lite in the US, Iwata said, declining to give a date or price.

Nintendo, whose games include the characters Donkey Kong and Mario, plans to release its next games console for televisions, called Revolution, this year, Iwata said.

Microsoft Corp, the world's largest software maker, began selling its Xbox 360 game console in November. Sony on March 15 said its PlayStation 3 game device will be available worldwide this November.

Iwata said that unlike Microsoft and Sony, Nintendo doesn't plan to release the Revolution globally at the same time.

"We don't think it's necessary to do the simultaneous worldwide launch simply because others are doing this," he said. ...

Hi again everyone, I was quite board today, when i thought i know why dont I make a new version of my psp whiteboard app, and so I did.
I have been working on this all day and for those of you who dont know what this program is well I'll tell you, Its a simple drawing app written in LUA coding.
