    We posted the Alpha release yesterday and already Edison Carter has updated that release, heres what he posted:

    Here's the first release of VCS CheatDevice 2.0! This version includes all of Cheat Maker except for Construction Mode, plus a few of the built in cheats are enabled.

    Vehicle Spawns - a lot of the vehicle numbers will crash. I didn't put upper or lower limits on it yet, but when you get into objects like "cellphone", you know it'll crash if you try to spawn that. We need to start a list of what works and what crashes.

    Step Through Walls
    Power Jump
    Screenshot
    Video Recorder
    Step Up/Down
    Inf Health & Armor
    Set Time

    You need to run VCS through DevHook to use this. You can install the PRX by running the installer or read the instructions in readme.txt if you prefer to do it by hand.

    IMPORTANT NOTE: After installing, wait at least 30 seconds before turning off USB or pulling out your memory stick. The PC caches your changes and doesn't write them out until a while later. If your memory card gets corrupt, use chkdsk /f X:

    I advise against saving your game after using cheats. Please note that when you spawn vehicles, you are using a game cheat that will lower your criminal rating!

    Thanks to ADePSP for the installer!

    Edit:
    Updated to make it pause the game while doing captures, snapshot and video recorder. Added inf health & armor and set the clock.

    Renamed to vcscheatdevice.prx. If you installed the ALPHA, you need to edit your pspbtcnf_game.txt file and change cheatdevice.prx to vcscheatdevice.prx.

    Cheats go in ms0:\cheats\vcs

    Fungostar posted this news:

    Java Runtime and Devkit 1.0 Beta 2 have just been released

    Here follows a list of changes and bug fixes.

    Bug:
    - Fix for the audio delay in the game "Paperotte"
    - Fixed many bugs in the sdljava layer, especially in palettized images

    News:- Added support for Zaxxon's bitmapped font, now the launcher uses a combination of ttf and bitmapped fonts
    - Added support for SFont compatible fonts
    - Launcher can now over/underclock applications before launching them
    - The launcher now adds a background service (disableable) for all applications: the Battery Monitor, a thread that monitors batteries state and turns on the battery led when they are low. The led blinks when batteries level is critical.
    - Added the following gp2x fnctionalities:
    * Battery led control (on/off)
    * Backlight control (on/off)
    * overclock/underclock
    * Battery state retrieval
    - Added another test program that allows you to experiment with new functions

    Improvements:
    - Modified Ryo's version of the SFont library, added font scaling and antialiasing
    - Modified surface initialization to hardware surfaces
    - Applied VM optimizations (-O2) and enabled advanced threading tecniques

    ToDo/Roadmap for Beta 3:
    - Make SFont's fonts changeable (actually only white)
    - enable double buffering hardware
    - j2me support

    Performances are much better. "Paperotte" is now fullspeed and audio is in sync.
    The Jam-Test application starts clocked at 50Mhz by default and performs at 12FPS, it reaches 85Fps at 200Mhz.

    Thanks to:
    - Zaxxon for his bitmapped fonts
    - Ryo for GMenu2X, it's a masterpiece and a vault of informations
    - SFont's original author, Karl Bartel

    Today Namco Bandai announced that the music puzzle game Gunpey DS has gone gold. In homage to the game's late, legendary creator Gunpei Yokoi, Q Entertainment has finished putting its updated spin on the title, a fast-paced puzzle game that flaunts sharp graphics and music-based gameplay. With a slew of playable characters, unlockable musical extras, multiplayer capabilities, and a plethora of original music, Gunpey is a portable puzzle game to watch this holiday season.

    "While deceptively simple upon first glance, Gunpey offers hardcore gamers a true challenge and surprising depth as their skill level develops," said Naruo Uchida, VP of Localization at Namco Bandai. "Frenetic gameplay combines seamlessly with Q Entertainment's trademark visuals and music to create a truly unique, visceral puzzle gaming experience."

    The game's original designer, Gunpei Yokoi, was on Nintendo's payroll for years and is the man behind the Game & Watch series, the Game Boy, and, unfortunately, the Virtual Boy. He also designed the WonderSwan handheld system, but was killed in a car crash before its release. Gunpey was his last game design.

    In a total shocker of an announcement, Nintendo revealed they will be showing Mario Party 8 for Wii at the Nintendo World 2006 exhibit. Yes, I’m being sarcastic. Also shown will be some Virtual Console games, the Mii channel, and hopefully some new Wii channels as well.

    But I’m glad Nintendo is finally doing a year-end Nintendo-only show again in Japan. I still have the exhibit booklet of Spaceworld 2001 where they first showed some levels of the GameCube’s Super Smash Bros DX (later called Melee). And guess what? Within the next 24 hours the first in-game level & character footage from Super Smash Bros Brawl will be shown in Nagoya, Japan! Rumor has it they might even show a new character. See the list of Wii games for show at the bottom.

    I couldn’t make heads or tails out of the Nintendo DS exhibition list, but 1UP translated it and found they have revealed Picross DS, 100 Poems by 100 Poets: DS Shigureden, likely a software version of their art exhibit in Kyoto, and DS Bimoji Training, a Japanese calligraphy training tool. Also slipping onto this list is Bandai Namco’s Mojipittan DS, a fast-paced word puzzle game which has already seen success on the PlayStation 2, PSP and Game Boy Advance. It's hard to shake the sense that F.E.A.R. is 'so last-year.' With Gears of War and Call of Duty 3 both just days away, and Rainbow Six Vegas debuting later this month, we're not sure there's reason to invest in Monolith's shooter -- at least, not until it lands in the bargain bin. Bottom line: a mostly stable port of the solid PC original, with some decent extras, like Instant Action, tacked on (the achievements are a bitch though).

    Peep the word:

    IGN (91/100) - "F.E.A.R. for me was a totally new experience and, as console games go, an excellent one ... While F.E.A.R. has been low on the hype meter for a while ... I think hardcore gamers will discover its greatness real quick" [Another Take].

    Team Xbox (87/100) - "While F.E.A.R.'s core story is essentially run-of-the-mill in terms of video game plots, the game makes up for it by creating a world in which danger lurks around every corner. ... If you're looking for an intense shooter that will occasionally scare the living crap out of you, F.E.A.R. is exactly what the doctor ordered."

    Game Informer (Second Opinion) (80/100) - "Maybe it's because I've played this game before, but F.E.A.R. doesn't get my blood pumping like it once did ... Or maybe it's just because I've played more intense shooters since the original came out ... Those who have played through F.E.A.R. on the PC don't have much reason to pick up the console version..."

    Australians have known for a few months that a Wii console will set them back AU$399.95 ($309.72) when it comes out in the country on December 7, but other pricing details have so far been sketchy. Now, Nintendo has revealed exactly how much Aussie gamers will have to pay for a complete Wii fix.

    Nintendo today confirmed Australian pricing for Wii accessories, Virtual Console games, and Wii points. While the AU$399.95 Wii console will come with one Remote and one Nunchuk controller, extra Remotes will set gamers back AU$69.95 ($54.18). Extra Nunchuks will cost AU$29.95 ($23.20), as will the Classic Controller. A Wii component video cable will go for AU$49.95 ($38.70).

    As for Wii Points, the currency which will be used to purchase Virtual Console games for the Wii, Aussie gamers will have to pay AU$30 ($23.24) for 2,000 points (US gamers pay $20 for 2,000 Wii points). Virtual Console NES games will cost 500 Wii points, Super NES will go for 800, and N64 titles will be 1,000 points. Sega Mega Drive titles (known as Sega Genesis in the US) will cost 800 points. And while US gamers will have 30 Virtual Console titles to choose from in December, Australians will only have 26, consisting of 16 Nintendo games and 10 Sega titles.

    Nintendo also revealed the pricing of its launch games. Twilight Princess will retail for $99.95 ($77.45), Wii Play will come bundled with a Wii Remote and retail for $79.95 ($61.95), and Wii Sports will be bundled as a pack-in with the Wii.
